Overview of Seachange Cafe and Grill

Welcome to The Sea Change Cafe
The food at Sea Change Cafe falls into the category of "Modern Australian", with a great range of tastes and flavours and excellent "value for money". Our food is tasty and creative - you can make your own meal (breaky, lunch or dinner) or select from our extensive menu. We display our marinated fish & meats for you to look & choose, which can be cooked on the chargrill, flat plate or woks.

All food is prepared quickly and simply, but in a healthy manner with loads of flavour. If you have any dietary requirements, Sea Change Cafe will do its best to fulfill these. Doggie-bags are provided for those with smaller appetites.

Bookings are accepted 7 nights and 5 lunches (Mon-Fri) Saturday and Sunday breakfast and lunch - leave your mobile number at the door, take a walk on the beach, and we'll phone you when your table is ready.

    I like Seachange for brekkie. The food is always consistent. Love the Cali.
    The thing I don't like about Seachange is that the tables are so crammed in that you feel like you are sitting on top of the people around you. You actually have to stand up at times to allow people to get around you. The staff are young generally so sometimes service can be hit and miss but we go back.

    Seachange is always excellent we dine here for brunch or evening meal often, both equally good. The Californian has shrunk in recent times, but is still a full meal, and the tomato salsa topping it has is fantastic. Spanish omelette, Kangaroo warm salad, etc, etc. My favorite place to eat on the beaches.

    We have been to Sea Change 3 times now, twice at lunch time and once to dinner. It was 3 times too many. Food is quite nice but the service is terrible, staffed by untrained schoolies who haven't a clue and care even less, having a party in the kitchen by themselves most of the time, leaving the guests to wait and wait and wait. Furniture and space terrible. This senior staff simply does not care.

    This place is aweseome! We have come here for the past 3 years, making the 20km drive well worthwhile for a Sat or Sun morning brunch. Decor is nothing special (cafe, hippy beach style) but the views, service and food is amazing.

    Quick service, coffees straight away, and the food, unbelievable. Although we try hard to order something different, we can't go past the Californing breakfast each time which comes with poached salmon, poached eggs, potato rosti, and rocket mixed with chopped fresh tomatoes. Yum!

    Best to book a table on the weekend to ensure your spot. Great views straight out onto Dee Why Beach. Getting a park is the only hassle here!

    Seachange Cafe is my absolute favorite! Their food is not only delicious but creative and differs from the tired standards you get at other restaurants. The potato rosti is sensational and no matter what I order I can't leave without ordering a side of it! The kumera, corn and cous cous cakes with the spiced yoghurt is another innovative and brilliant dish.

    Service is always friendly and attentive. It definitely gets crowded because it's so good but the wait is never long, and it's hardly a chore waiting with such great scenery.

    Every single time a great experience! From the moment you walk in you are greeted by their friendly staff and you feel welcome. The portions are usually bigger than other places and you can order a entree bowl plus a salad (which in my opinion are the best around) and you have a great meal!

    I highly recommend the tandoori chicken for entree as it comes with a tasty pineapple salsa and yogurt, the paella is the best I ever tasted, a lot better than the ones I had in Spain. If you go for breskfast try The local for a huge portion, coffees are always great. This is one of my favorites, I like it so much that once I had dinner there 3 times in the same week.

    I went back to the Seachange Cafe about a week ago and it was a great experience.

    I had the grilled barramundi and chips. I highly recommend this dish because the fish is cooked to perfection and has great texture. The chips are thick cut and taste a whole lot nicer than your average McDonald's style box of grease! The food is good value, with my main being 19 dollars or so. The coffee, as I have previously mentioned is absolutely top shelf. I have not had a better coffee elsewhere!

    Dee why, in my opinion is Sydney's nicest beach. Not too crowded, no cheesy tourist shops, good mix of locals and regular visitors and the Seachange Cafe compliments this feel nicely. The cafe has a very simple decor and "chill out" style music is regularly heard. It is why I come here, and once again I was not disappointed.

    The service, to be honest was not initially fantastic. The cafe wasn't busy but no one seemed to notice me and it took a couple of minutes to even gain recognition. However, when I was noticed, an ice cold glass of water was given to me and a high standard of service was given to me.

    All in all, I would highly recommend this cafe to everyone.

    This place is starting to feel a little tired, used to be the best on the beach but food standards and portion sizes have dropped. Quality and freshness of flavours and food seems to be dropping. Hopefully they can get back to where they started which was quality food and fresh flavours for a great price.
    Service is starting to feel a little rushed and menu needs revamping.
