We were heading out to erskenville for breakfast and on the way we saw this cafe. At first we were not sure about it so we kept driving on, however, after a while we turned around and thought of giving it a try. We liked the atmosphere of the cafe and the fact that we got the seat on the road was good.

The food was good. We tried Breakfast Quesadilla, it was something different and good. We loved the food and the service was good too. They brought us water for the table and took our order. They did a pretty good job. I will definitely go back for another breakfast. Although I must admit my wife and myself did feel like a bit of odd couple at this cafe.

Don't leave it up to the waiters to come up to your table, otherwise, you will never get to eat. Not much variety other than coffee and fresh juice for drinks. The water and kiddy plastic cups they serve their tap water are a turn off. Water is always warm and tastes strange.

On the plus side, breakfast is amazing. Our local Sunday breakfast haunt. I always get the big breakfast or quesadillas. Generous servings. I like the atmosphere being a busy newtown (though in enmore) cafe. The posters and post cards are always a conversation starter. The bus stop outside gives it more customers (like myself) as you drive past every morning. However, the shady characters outside waiting for buses sometimes make me wary.

A little pricey, but the big servings make up for it. My partner has a bottomless pit of a stomach and can not finish his breakfast most of the time here.

Really nice food! Great quantity and quality. The only let downs were the service and the coffee. The wait staff, perhaps, had a bad day, but my coffee was just not where I want coffee to taste. If we are in the area then I will go there again.

Basically this place is Ok. They always have the music on too loud. There are no frills to the food or service but its not horrible.

I love this place! Great food. Home style cooking. No attitude. No Newtown bullshit. Staff are always smiling and very helpful. Just a great unpretentious place serving great food! It's like Newtown 20 years ago when it was a place for real people.

Here for lunch on Sunday, it was full and busy but there are a lot of floor staff doing not a lot and the kitchen was clearly swamped, help them out! In fairness the coffees were fast, however, 40 minutes later one of our sandwiches arrived, and then the other in another 5 minutes. Service is lack lustre, no one checks back with you and even when I asked for water it never arrived, that instantly cancels your tip. Not sure what the hype is about this cafe.

I must say that I am a big fan of scrambled, although, I would say I am also a pretty patient person. The food is great, however, sometimes there is a wait but on the plus side generally everyones food is brought at the same time. It can be pretty squishy at times and the tables are tiny and rickety but I think it adds to the vibe of the place.

The staff can be pretty rude if you don't appreciate the fact that they are working with a crowd in a small space. In terms of value, lunch is best , their lunches are HUGE and cheaper than the brekkies. All in all a great place when you need a good feed.

This establishment is definitely over-rated. As a local and many time visitor, Scrambled misses on all points except grunge. The aspect is akin to sitting next to a bus stop because it is. Inside, the decor is cheap and grimy. The staff, equally grimy except the proprietor who is unswervingly smiling and polite.

The food is "short order" cook, definitely not prepared by a chef and usually not as good as you would cook for yourself at home. Overall, there is little to commend this establishment. A visit to the bathroom will take you past the kitchen. You may wish you hadn't seen it, it needs a good scrub too. 10/20, not recommended and no chef's hat likely in this lifetime.
