Extremely disappointing. Having booked and been looking forward to it for a week as my birthday dinner (I spent some time in Germany and was keen to go to a good German restaurant) we walked out in under 10 minutes. No Pork Knuckle! 7 pm booking on a Saturday night and No pork knuckle! The place is small and we stood waiting for a few minutes where you would think there should be a reception desk wondering if we needed to go somewhere else.

After finally being pointed to our table we then waited for menus for 5 minutes (listening to authentic night club music, what an atmosphere for a German restaurant) before someone came along and asked us if we'd like drinks, to which I replied I'd like a menu to see what you've got, hoping to find lot's of different German beers. Now, don't think this is straight forward, you have to pay separately for drinks as they come from the bar in the German-Austrian Club in which the restaurant is located.

Have you ever heard of any decent restaurant with this sort of arrangement?! So, it was all downhill from the moment of arrival and when they didn't have any pork knuckle, that was the straw that broke the camels back and when we said we were leaving they really didn't care. Do Not go here for a great night in an authenticate German restaurant with great German food, beverages and atmosphere.

Small, homey atmosphere. Felt like I was in Germany, which I loved. Great value for money, the meals are quite large and delicious! Service is a little slow. Would definitely recommend.

Had dinner with a group of friends here and loved the food! It took a while for the food to come out but it was worth the wait. The serving sizes were huge and the value was fair in my opinion.

I used to come here many years ago for the Pork Goulash and Knuckles but have recently discovered how good the steak is. It's a huge meal and the meat was perfectly cooked for me. Amazing home-made garlic bread and try the cherry strudel. Met the european chef, lovely guy that likes to cook everything from scratch which made the service a bit slower than other restaurants but worth making the trek out to Cabramatta. Drinks prices are good and nice selections of beers. Try the black beer.

This place has changed hands to some asian kid chef who doesn't know what he is doing. Had the pork knuckle, came out really quick. Tasteless, chewy, didn't have crispy crackling. Borsch soup was tasteless and not spicy at all. Had to ask for the bread, avoid this place, its dead if it wasn't already.

Decided to have dinner at the Schwartzwald with my partner and some friends. We all ordered the pork knuckle and really enjoyed it. The restaurant isn't large and its quite old, however, the food was really good, the service staff were quick and the portion of food compared to the price was also a surprise. The DAB beer on tap is also quite refreshing. We will be back.

I really enjoyed the food here. Had to ask the lady pretty much what each dish written on the board translated to and she was very patient about it. We ordered the jagerschnitzel and it was Yum, the cabbage roll was not as hot as we would like it but was very tasty. You have to get the garlic bread, quite oily but you get a huge slab of it - salted just right.

They didn't have any frankfurts so we settled for the white sausage, nothing fancy about it but the sides (cabbage etc) was enjoyable. We dediced to sit inside cause outside was too cold but if I had a choice I would have much preferred outdoors cause it smelt funny indoors. The table next to us ordered the Pork knuckle so I will be back to try that next time!

The food tastes great, and was very filling. With three of us, we decided to share a main and an entree just to try the place out. As the garlic bread was favourably reviewed, we weren't disappointed. We all loved it, and used what was left (it comes in a large serving) to dip in the cabbage entree. It was similar to "Dolma" or "Sarma" from Eastern Europe, but huge. We finished with the gypsy platter that the three of us couldn’t finish. Ended up being cheaper than expected. Loved the cosy atmosphere, and the German/Swiss chocolates for sale.

Some bad points were the restaurant had a bad odour inside, so we opted to sit outside, which we didn't mind. One of the steaks smelled like the restaurant so I couldn't eat it. No-one else had this problem and there was plenty more to eat.

I went here on a Sunday night expecting it to be pretty busy, in which it wasn't so it was a very quiet night, but food was really good for value I really enjoyed the Hungarian garlic bread and the Cabbage roll!

Have eaten here many, many times and find it to be very 'Authentic' and great value for money! The ambience is really good also! Just like the 'real deal'.
Highly recommend the long drive to eat here. The cook here is Austrian and knows what is expected and delivers! Only quite small and booking is recommended as it gets quite busy! Love it!
