Returned here for another brekky much later in the day, a week after the Easter long weekend. Sure, it was busy, but with only 2 waitresses on the floor who also had to prepare and serve coffee's/drinks, take orders, serve the customers their food, prepare the bill, and have to clean tables down afterwards? 2 staff were clearly not enough and the service and the food were shocking this time around.
Clearly they were short staffed in the kitchen also. The result was a very "get in, order, eat, pay and get out" effect. Very impersonal. Food this time was really awful. Obviously due to kitchen staff/time restraints the sausages on our breakfast had been deep fried. Absolutely shocking, as if sausages aren't fatty enough? Our eggs varied, mine overdone, his underdone. Pitiful, cold and very soggy toast.
Debating if I'll go there again?
Previous Post: Came here for a "Big Breakfast", Eggs (2), Sausages (2), Toast (2), Hash Browns (2), Tomatoes, and Bacon (Thankfully without fatty rashers) for $11.90. Full sized milkshakes good value again at $3.90. Service was friendly and prompt, and the interior had a relaxed, funky vibe.
Glanced at the Lunch/Dinner menu which also looks like great value with a good priced winelist and BYO accepted. Will definitely go back for Brekky, and will plan an evening here also. Recommend it!
We came here with family on a fairly busy Saturday night and was lucky enough to get a booth. Our waitress was great, friendly and attentive and got us our drinks quite quickly. Garlic Cheesebread for entree disappeared pretty quickly, the mains were excellent, the serves were quite big and I think really good value for money.
Two of us had steaks which were perfectly cooked and the pepper sauce was delicious. My brother had the Kangaroo Burger and he said it was great, I'll have to take his word for it as he wouldn't let me try it. The Wine and Beer list is quite good for a cafe and reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back next time I'm in the area.
We had a great meal with our family but the service was very poor, our cold drinks (cans) took 10 minutes to come. The meals were very generous and yummy!! It was very very cold, with one small heater trying to heat the place up. We'll go again in the summer.
Really good courses for a good price. I had chicken quesadillas (14,90) and my boyfriend a chicken parmigiana (15,90). There is plenty of food in the plate and it is delicious. We went there on a Saturday night, the restaurant was full but we have been served in a reasonable time. A lot of people have been refused because of lack of space.
If you want to eat there, take a glass of wine at the bar and wait for a table.
We shared an apple flan for dessert but we were a bit disappointed (doesn't worth the price - 8,50). Very good place to eat and have a good time!
Ate here about 8.30 on Anzac Day, quite busy, nice atmosphere, good looking menu. Sat down, ordered and served our drinks promptly. In a corner table a bit out of the way, so hard to catch waitresses' eye.
I ordered the grilled barramundi with Asian vegetables with a lime, honey and coriander dressing. Really yummy. Reasonable price of about $17-19, can't really remember sorry. My partner had a chicken quesadilla, which was okay. It was smotheredin about half a carton of sour cream and nice salsa. He was pretty full and left about two slices.
We were looking forward to having dessert and coffee and for about 20 minutes was trying to grab the waitresses' attention to come clear our plates and order dessert. The rush was over and couldn't find a waitress on the floor for a while. One eventually came over and when we asked for dessert she said the kitchen closed 15 minutes ago. We weren't too impressed as we had been sitting there with dirty plates in front of us for 20 minutes. She did offer to ask the kitchen but we said not to worry about it.
Service was so so, very rushed and a bit disappointing towards the end. Would try again to give it another chance but not overly impressed. Would try others in the area over it again, but if everything was full this experience has not frightened me off too much! For a beer and two ample sized mains + 10% public holiday surcharge it came to $42. Not too bad.
A great cafe menu. There were other more interesting sounding options but I couldn't go past the cheeseburger and chips. Huge serving and tasted great. Recommended.
Being up in the mountains last weekend my husband and I had dinner at this restaurant after being recommended it by friends who lived in the area. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, the steak was perfectly cooked not to mention huge! Great value for money. Service was excellent. I will definitely be coming back.
Pleasant atmosphere but curt service. The vegie burger pattie was fried, had oily crust and little taste, the vegetable and lentil soup was merely carrot and water and contained no lentils although the chips were well cooked and plentiful. Overall very disappointing and overpriced.
