Small and cosy, nothing fancy just decent food. Music on Friday night was fantastic! Three guitarists playing Jazz and enjoying their work! Definitely worth a visit.
Just visited this restaurant on the weekend, menu looked great, good variety, entree was served within 15 minutes of sitting. Waited for 1 hour and fifteen minutes for main after entree was cleared. Was approached by staff once and they really did not seem to care and could not advise us why it was taking so long. 10 tables came ate and left after we had arrived and we were still there. Was close to walking out when meals came, mains were rushed, untidy and bland. Really would advise people to stay away from this one.
Its pub food without the pub! Huge servings, place has a diner feel to it. Great veal schnitzel and for as small and cosy as it is they even had live entertainment. Nothing fancy just decent hearty food!
Visited Savoy for a nice very simple dinner. I had the salmon pasta which was really nice. We did wait a while for the food to come out, but admittedly it was a busy night when we visited. It is a really good value place for food and would recommend it for families or anyone who doesn't want anything fancy.
My partner and I go here almost weekly. The breakfasts are the best in the mountains, dinners are super quick and huge! I never leave disappointed. The menu is great too, really varied. I have a list in my head of what I want next time. But the steaks and pastas are best.
It's become a tradition to have dinner at Savoy's when we're in the Blue Mountains. We used to go to the Limetree for simple fare such as steaks, burgers and pastas, but since they have closed we've started going to the Savoy. My top favourite is the rump steak with perfect chips and creamy pepper sauce. They really know how to cook a steak and the sauce is to die for.
For a very simple dish they do it super well and the meat is not bad quality either. The serving is huge too if you're a big eater. My partner had the cheese burger and although he said the meat patty wasn't the best he's ever had, the combo of mustard and cheese made the burger and chips were nicely cooked. I've also had the kangaroo burger before and meat was cooked just perfect and very tender.
I'd recommend this place for a family dinner (if you want to avoid the pub) on the cheap and for others who might be spending up big on accommodation and just want to go out for an inexpensive no fuss dinner.
Returned here for another brekky much later in the day, a week after the Easter long weekend. Sure, it was busy, but with only 2 waitresses on the floor who also had to prepare and serve coffee's/drinks, take orders, serve the customers their food, prepare the bill, and have to clean tables down afterwards? 2 staff were clearly not enough and the service and the food were shocking this time around.
Clearly they were short staffed in the kitchen also. The result was a very "get in, order, eat, pay and get out" effect. Very impersonal. Food this time was really awful. Obviously due to kitchen staff/time restraints the sausages on our breakfast had been deep fried. Absolutely shocking, as if sausages aren't fatty enough? Our eggs varied, mine overdone, his underdone. Pitiful, cold and very soggy toast.
Debating if I'll go there again?
Previous Post: Came here for a "Big Breakfast", Eggs (2), Sausages (2), Toast (2), Hash Browns (2), Tomatoes, and Bacon (Thankfully without fatty rashers) for $11.90. Full sized milkshakes good value again at $3.90. Service was friendly and prompt, and the interior had a relaxed, funky vibe.
Glanced at the Lunch/Dinner menu which also looks like great value with a good priced winelist and BYO accepted. Will definitely go back for Brekky, and will plan an evening here also. Recommend it!
We came here with family on a fairly busy Saturday night and was lucky enough to get a booth. Our waitress was great, friendly and attentive and got us our drinks quite quickly. Garlic Cheesebread for entree disappeared pretty quickly, the mains were excellent, the serves were quite big and I think really good value for money.
Two of us had steaks which were perfectly cooked and the pepper sauce was delicious. My brother had the Kangaroo Burger and he said it was great, I'll have to take his word for it as he wouldn't let me try it. The Wine and Beer list is quite good for a cafe and reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back next time I'm in the area.
We had a great meal with our family but the service was very poor, our cold drinks (cans) took 10 minutes to come. The meals were very generous and yummy!! It was very very cold, with one small heater trying to heat the place up. We'll go again in the summer.
