Fried eggs with chilli, black sesame and coriander! No need to ask a second time - I'm in. Delicious lunch today. It was hard to choose from all the great-looking options. I'm vegetarian and it is always a delight to find a cafe with lots of tasty options. The coffee was pretty good too and I had no problem with the staff. I'll be back.

Love this place. Consistently awesome food and coffee. Great atmosphere and layout. I'm always revisiting this place! Wish there were more places like this.

Wow. I just can't believe how many negative reviews this place gets! In my humble opinion, Satellite serves some of the best and most original food of any cafe I've been to in Sydney (and I've been to a lot).

Having tried literally everything on the menu twice, I do not hesitate in recommending this place for your Saturday or Sunday recovery brekky, or even a midweek treat if you are a student. I would, however, strongly recommend that you don't go here if you are in a hurry: even when it's quiet, your meal can take a good half an hour to come out.

That aside, the food is always spectacular. No boring big breakfast here. Fresh ingredients, well prepared, and combined in interesting ways to create often orgasmic results. The coffee is also, without a doubt, the best of the inner west, putting heavy hitters like Campos to shame. It is all very well priced too with brekky, coffee and a juice easily done for $20.

    Highly recommended!

Went for lunch. Coffee is good. Service was fine but the staff did not warn us about the sides will not be included in the voucher (that's not any issue, happy to pay the difference).

Atmostphere is average, music is a little over on the loud side and newspaper seemed to be torn slip into missing multi-section paper. I ordered a scramble egg with bacon on the side and a potato dish which turns out nothing more than wedges with bits of salad. For some reason the chef has a liking of coriander and almost every dish on the menu had it on. Its a great herb but I will use it only as one of the ingredient and not the main one.

The eggs ok, too much milk gone into it that took the organic egg taste away, I can only taste some strong butter and milk. And potato dish is ok but nothing impressive.

Overall if you are around the area (more like the street) its a fair cafe to go for a coffee or lunch but it does not have enough to attract customer to go on purpose. There are plenty of competition on king st and even just 1 street away from this one.

Seriously rude staff. I couldn't believe how the senior staff was acting towards me as soon as I walked in the door. She talked down to us because we didn't know what certain ingredients listed in the dishes were, such as "Fresh evoo" and "maldon". Maldon it turns out is a Brand of salt, but seriously what kind of place needs to include salt in the description of a dish?

Food tasted average anyway. The place looks just like how I remember the cafe in Neighbours from when I was a kid.

Lame. Plenty of other options on king st and around.

I went here for lunch while my dog was getting a haircut next door. I thought it was going to be to hipster like for me, but the staff were very friendly and I felt very comfortable. The menu was a bit hard to read with all the different fonts and pictures and didn't explain exactly what the meals were (maybe I'm getting old?). I ordered the salsa. My God, it was amazing! I had quiet little orgasms while eating the beautifully tasty tomatoes mixed with a sauce and fresh herbs. And the camomile tea as divine (no bags used there). Definitely will be back.

If you want to dine in a squat this is the place for you. There is nothing remotely going for this cafe. Not the food, the ambience or the service, it is just a hovel and not worth trying out since there are many great cafes on King St to rival this place. If its the unrecuperated old Newtown ambience that you're looking for, then Scrambled down the street in Enmore far outflanks this cafe for service, music taste and decor.

And they get the food right as well. Seriously over rated!

The food is great but good grief, the staff. Lose the attitude, guys. My table had two journalists on it and we're now going to spread the word high and low about how randomly rude you were to us. Thanks for the food, I won't be back.

This used to be our pick of the North King Street crop, but our most recent experience of being verbally abused on the way out the door by, whom we assume to be, the kitchen staff and/or senior staff has put us off ever going back unless there's a serious attitude adjustment. Our sin? For sending back two water glasses with large chips in the rims. It's a shame because the service from the floor staff is great and the food and atmosphere are what kept us coming back for such a long time.

Had lunch there on Saturday, the service was very good (even when one of the guys seemed to be new as he didn't know much about the items in the menu). I had the French omelette with salmon, ricotta and capers pesto, my sister had the roasted pepper, beetroot, tomato and caramelised onions sandwich. Both were yummy and the size of the portions were ok.

After that we had a piece of blueberry cake, plus a capuccino and a latte. The cake was nice, but the milk in my sister's latte was burnt. The capuccino was good but not amazing. We paid $36.50 for the meal, overall a good value for the money, although it was not the best cafe lunch I've had.
