The food here is reasonably good and very good value for money especially if you have the banquet. The kitchen can be a bit noisy and food sometimes is slow but I would recommended this place if you need a meal during the weekday instead of cooking.

I've been coming here for years. The food is amazing and it's great value. I would say that it's more of a take out place as you wouldn't say the atmosphere is for a birthday. Above all I eat at Satay Queen on a regular basis and would choose it over any fine dining restaurant.

Two words: Greay value. My partner and I eat here all the time and it's always consistent, and has been for a good 5 years. Great fresh food, friendly service and most rice dishes (e.g. satay chicken and rice etc.) are only $6! Highly recommend.
Some times the service is a bit slow but it's worth the wait.

I ordered a takeaway Chicken satay from this chinese restaurant on a monday night recently, a short 5 minutes stroll from my home. The food was great and the value was superb. At only $6 for the meal it's almost as cheap, if not cheaper, than cooking at home and tastes great. I would highly recommend just for the food, value, and service.

We decided to order home delivery from Satay Queen tonight. It arrived in 30 minutes, steaming hot, and was the best tasting good value Chinese I've ever had. Chicken Laksa arrived separated (noodles and chicken in one box and soup in the other) so that it would not go soggy in transit. The Singapore Noodles were massive and flavoursome, and the special fried rice was excellent.

We ordered the mixed entree and a chicken soup to share but it was so much food we have left overs for the next two meals. Great value and excellent food, we will be making Satay Queen a regular member on our take out roster!

Despite its small cramped sitting area and the food taking almost forever to come the food here is superb and very good value for money. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and Rice and expected I was given a small portion for just over $5. I was very surprised and pleased when it turned out to be a larger serving. Overall Satay Queen's food makes up for its pretty dull ambience and mediocre service.

It's been a while since Satay Queen has been given a rating so I felt compelled to update it. Good simple Asian food at a good simple price. A tasty well priced alternative to the Westfields foodcourt for those seeking a quick lunch in Hornsby.
But please take the 9's and 10's from other reviewers below in the right context, this is certainly not fine dining by any means.

Firstly, you do not go here to eat, you go here to get take away. So far as this aspect goes, it's fantastic value for your typical pan Asian twenty-page-menu fare, and it delivers in variety and taste. Recommended the san choy bow, steamed dim sum, wonton soup and the BBQ pork in plum sauce. This place is exactly what you need for cheap and cheerful mid week meals when kitchen fatigue strikes.

Best Chinese on the upper North Shore! Beautiful meals that never disappoint. Large choice and variety in theirr menu. Modest cafe/takeaway joint. Excellent value for money. Highly reccommended.They also do delivery but ordering over the phone may take some time, as thier English isnt very good.
