Used to be consistently terrific, but has come down to earth. Can be very variable in the standard of food, these days. Still worth a visit.

Went here as part of a big group on a Saturday night and couldn't have been more impressed.

The $45 banquet menu has ample food with 5 appetisers and 6 mains with the steamed fish and salt and pepper mix among the favourites, but all dishes failed to disappoint and it's not often that in a big group there is food left over but tonight there was and we had some big eaters (and drinkers) in our group.

Service was also fast and efficient and very friendly and we even had a vego amongst us that was catered for as well without any hassle. BYO of both beer and wine at $3 a head is fantastic value and there is a reason this restaurant has been a Balmain staple for so long and is always busy when so many mediocre ones over the years have come and gone or are hanging on by a thread.

Great variety on the menu. Had a real feast for friday lunch. The eggplant is the one standout dish. Portions are generous and the waitstaff are very alert, topping up water and clearing empty plates. Great food, great company. Can't complain.

Very popular with locals and visitors to Balmain alike. Very big menu with some rather unique dishes worth trying. Really worth a try if in the area.

Absolutely love Satasia! I've been here about 6 times over the last 3 years and the staff are always so welcoming and remember our favourite dishes. Eggplant Goreng is delicious and the Larb is nicely spicy! Great casual atmosphere with a friendly neighbourhood feel. Great for large and small groups.

We were brought to Satasia by some good friends back in 2007 and have become regulars. We've lost track of the number of times we've dined here - why so many times? The reason is this place is consistently amazing. Whenever we want to have a beautiful meal with the best service in town we bring our friends here. No place in Sydney can match it for quality of food, service and price. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for us. It is so lovely to be recognised and called by name whenever we go there. They remember our favourite dishes and often suggest new ones which are always great. The food is to die for and the serving sizes are generous. If you don't find something on the extensive menu that you love then take a good, hard, long look at yourself! Coming here for dinner always feels like going to a good friend's place. We can't recommend this place highly enough! The fact that this place has been around for 25 years speaks for itself.

We attended a 60th birthday here last week with a large number of guests! Staff coped extremely well, service was excellent, food was a good variety of Asian food plus the Vegetarian meals were perfect. Good for a group booking.

I only discovered this restaurant last week after living nearby for 4 years. The menu is excessive, and they could easily halve it without disappointing people. No need for chicken tikka or regular stuff like pad thai. The 'Cry tiger beef' was recommended to us by staff and was one of the most amazing meals I've ever had! I ordered the rendang beef, after trying it recently in Malaysia - it's my new favourite thing. It didn't really taste like rendang beef, but was a fabulous curry anyway, I'd give it a 9/10. Staff are great, best service I've had anywhere. Very very busy all the time which is proof to me that it's an amazing restaurant!

I have eaten here many times, the most recent was with friends from France, Finland and the UK. Satasia, you were a great hit with our visitors, freaky thing, whenever I come in, I always get the round table near the door but it's cool. The food is amazing and good value. I have never ordered food yet; I simply ask one of the senior waiters / manager to order for me and I've never been disappointed. Excellent work guys.

This was our favourite eat out in Sydney before we moved, always go back there when back in the big smoke. Love the food, and the staff are very nice.
