First the venue as soon as you walk in it you notice how dimly lit it is. Then your eyes adjust and you see red hues and old chinese movies projected on walls. The music which the old Chinta Ria is famous for is also featured here. It makes you feel like you are transported back in time to some opium den in Hong Kong. Only thing missing was the smoke in the air and of course the opium.

Service is hit and miss with the first week of opening been very friendly and effortless from experienced wait staff. The next time we went so weeeks later both for dinner was not as positive with staff running around. Even the bowl of lovely home made marinated peanuts was a thid of the size and we had to ask for more and the first time they just kept bringing more without been prompted.

The food I would say is refined Malaysian. With anything refined comes a price which was fair for the surroundings but with that you loose some authenticity. Overall a good dining experience considering seating is uncomfortable in stools and table placement is tight.

Very disappointed - I've tried the mee goreng, fried chicken and the special beef in black sauce. Food is bland and not authentic. The beef lacks flavour and tenderness. You can get more authentic Malaysian food with better value in the city. The ambience and food presentation was not too bad though, but if you're looking for great Malaysian flavour I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

One of the best Malaysian foods I have ever had. The ambiance is O.K. it is located within a trendy new food court but it has its own seating area. Really liked the curry beef with steam rice. Great value, recommend.

For lunch we had the Hor fun, Chinta Laksa, Curry chicken with rice and the 'recommended' fried chicken with rice. The hor fun and curry chicken was average but the laksa was bland and soggy. The fried chicken with the rice was so dry that it was not edible. Was very disappointed with the standard of food.

This one is a bit of a mixed bag. I have only tried 2 things on the menu, laksa and mee goreng. The laksa was below expectations and lacked flavour compared to other laksa places. The mee goreng was a different story. It was amazing, served wrapped up in paper I wasn't sure what to expect and was regretting my choice when I received it. After trying it out though I was thoroughly surprised. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

As far as value for money goes it is ok, what you'd expect from an upmarket food court but you could get similar things slightly cheaper elsewhere. Service is reasonably quick and they give you a beeper so you can go and find a table while you wait.
