Had a group function here, everyone loved it, tasty food at a bargain price. A great family run business that does Turkish takeaway classics, also a great place to buy homemade dips and fresh Turkish bread to take along to a picnic or BBQ. Great pide.
Wow! thats all that explains this Pizza, if you were to have pizza in heaven Saray would be the shop serving you, the food is to die for fantastic! Do I recommend this place? Hell Yes, if you're up for the best tasting Turkish pizza (Sucuklu is to die for, they make there own chilie mince sausage) then head to Saray! I give it 10/10.
Came back recently, the ambience has improved a lot in the expensive of higher prices. A kebab for almost $10, has inflation hit this place too?
The food was better than I remembered, especially the bread you get for the dips, which came with turkish bread but it was crunchy outside. Yummy! The pide is better than your average kebab place, nice and soft, full of flavour.
Service, my friend did give money and the lady forgot to give the change, my friend had to ask for it, $50 and no change, for myself this is an innocent mistake, the lady just seemed busy but still it did occur.
I can see why my friends like this place, for myself Turkish food in Enmore, you can't go wrong!
23/07/09: I found this place to be a cheap eat in the Newtown/Enmore area but its not a place that should have high expectations of. The food is above average and the place itself inside is nothing special and the food sometimes is a little slow to come out. My friends like this place.
Back before I ever even knew about this website, I had a kebab at this place and it was fine. I recently found this place on eatability and went there as it has a high rating and the mixed plate was recommended by a fair few people. I went there, realised it was the same place I had visited years earlier, ordered the mixed plate which was 20 something dollars, and a few other snacks.
Waited 40 minutes for the mixed plate when there were only 2 other occupied tables in the place and the actual amount of food on the plate was ridiculously small, you would get more in a single kebab for less than half the price. I was not worried the fact this is really just a takeaway place and looks it.
The service was ok, the value was not good, the food was average and the ambience was ok. I haven't tried their pizzas yet, not sure if I will be back. Would I recommend it? No. If you just want a kebab then fine, it would be ok but for a place to sit down and eat their other menu items, way too expensive and overrated.
Not the kind of place that instantly entices you to walk in, but once you've entered will go back again and again. The food is great, clean, fresh and delicious. The service is also very friendly. Highly recommend the Veg lot pizza, the dips and the yummy super-spicy vine leave rolls.
Never judge a book by its cover. The same applies to Sarays. The shops appearance has not changed since day dot. But the food is fantastic. By far the best Turkish food you can buy in Sydney. The family that operates the business are very friendly and the service is fantastic. Everything is fresh and very tasty.
I highly recommend the vege lot pide.
The setting is very basic. We almost turned back at the door when we saw it. However, the food and service were excellent. The dips and the Turkish bread were delicious, as was the Iskender kebab. Highly recommended for food, but don't take anyone you wish to impress.
We had a great Turkish meal, the waiter/staff are very friendly, and the chef made us a special dietary meal. Highly recommended for a quick, fabulous, cheap, healthy filling meal. I also love the mixed dips with Turkish bread,
Fantastic food and super cheap - it is not a flash restaurant but that's not always what you are looking for is it? The service is quick and friendly so the lack of "ambience" really doesn't matter!
This is the perfect place for a quick dinner before a show at the Enmore.
