Saturday night, 7.30 pm we were about to leave this restaurant, another 4 people doing the same, which left the place with 2 more people. That would make me think why is this on a Saturday, however after eating at this restaurant I am not at all surprised.
I found the food overpriced, not at all fresh tasting, in fact I would go to the extent of calling it carry over from previous days and quite awful. I expected a suburban Italian restaurant with nice flavours, but found a place with city prices yet of very poor quality. I am not even beginning to talk about decor, or crammed tables. In brief one very bad experience in dining out!
The Good Bits: The restaurant had a genuine Italian feel about it and backed up by an authentic menu. Meals delivered in good time and reasonable size servings.
The Not So Good Bits: Tables very crammed together, mains were way over priced, bathrooms needed some work and no pizza on the menu?
Would we go back? Probably
We had a function with over 20 people here on Saturday night. After paying a very reasonable set menu price we were offered the full menu to choose our meals from. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was absolutely beautiful. Corkage was advertised to us at $2 per bottle (restaurant is BYO wine only) but at the end of the night we were not charged anything. We plan to hold more functions here.
Came here at about 8.30 on a Saturday night and were told they were close to closing!. We were hurried through our meals and the pasta dishes tasted like they were straight from a jar. Bruscetta had the smallest amount of topping I had ever seen. Not an enjoyable authentic Italian experience.
We had a good night here last Friday night. Service was good (even if waiter was a bit too involved in conversation!) and the food was absolutely delicious. Entrees and mains were both of good size. Thoroughly recommend the risottos!
Had a bad experience here last Friday. Ordered 2 entrees, one which never arrived and one which was garlic prawns - 5 tiny prawns swimming in oil for $17. The mains were very small and overpriced for what we received and the waiter/maitre de? seemed to be cooking as well as taking orders! On top of this, corkage was $6 for a bottle of wine (we had one with a screw top which we opened and poured ourselves) - outrageous. We won't be back.
