Been there a few times, food is always presented nicely, is fresh and tastes sensational. Staff have always been helpful on my requests, specially when I take the kids and ask for a milk chocolate classic shake rather that the menu one that is a dark chocolate. Even when they are busy they try to accommodate requests.
My favourite item on the menu (apart from the churros) has to be the Hot and Cold hot chocolate. As I am not a fan of white chocolate icecream or otherwise, I always ask for the dark chocolate icecream instead and have always had this request filled with a smile. Never had issues with the staff or service, anyway we are all human.
As far value is concerned, well we go there for a treat and not necessarily to clutch at the cents. Sure we could get a hot chocolate elsewhere cheaper, but would we get the same Spanish experience?? The nice, soft Spanish music playing in the background certainly puts a nice finishing touch to it. Will definitely be coming back. Keep up the good work.
As a friend commented on the night, "Good concept but poor execution". We were there on a Saturday night, staff seemed overwhelmed and had the biggest attitude of "why are you bothering me?"...the platter of churros we had ordered was missing one as one churo fell off the plate when the waitress served it. Instead of offering an extra one, she left it on the floor.
Another waiter stepped on it while he served us our drinks, we advised him of what had happened - he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off. A milkshake was served in a broken glass that could have caused injury but highlighting the danger of this to staff would have been fruitless. Conclusion of the night - not worth a revisit for overpriced hot chocolate!!!!
It was first time to visit San Churro. I love thick hot chocolate and it came with good temparature. However, service was disappointing. Staff seems they don't pay close attention to customers. We waited our drinks so long and when we asked about our order, the waitress left without reply. Several bottles of water for self-services were empty for long time but no staff noticed...
I loved the Churros and the Coffee, my Girl had the thick hot chotolate, she loved it. Will be back for sure, a little overpriced but it's worth it as it tastes so good.
Love the thick hot chocolate (especially the Azteca for chocolate and chilli fans). Everything else isn't that great. Somewhat overpriced. Churros aren't that great (they should separate the ice-cream from the churros...they get soggy!). Ambience is okay during the day, at night though, that's a different story. Service is great when it's not crowded.
I've been to this place about four times, and what keeps me coming back is definitely the milkshakes (mango is a bit mild, mint is indifferent, cookies and cream is the yum), this place also serves the best, thick hot chocolate I've tasted (the chai hot choc does pack on the spices, though!). I get full enough even with just half a cup, so do consider sharing. The cakes are a tad expensive, but the churro sensation is good for a snack.
BUT! The last time I went there the service was horrible. We had a party of eight so I asked if we could move the tables, and one of the servers say yeah and just left us to move them ourselves. Then they said we were blocking the way and asked us to rearrange the tables....again, by ourselves! I understand they're busy and all, but come on...-_- You can be nicer about it. The toilets are quite icky, too.
So all in all not too sure if I'm going back. Maybe should try the Chatswood branch..
Really bad atmosphere for a night out. Not personal and too bright and lots of chaos. Hot chocolate was good after I added some more chocolate from the pot which came with the brownie. The brownie was the best part.
The service I found it to be very pleasant though she did get the coffee orders all mucked up! never mind everyone is human! So we tried the main product the churro....um where do I start ok in two words...."play doh". I've been to Spain and tried all sorts of churros but these by far would have to be the worst...sorry guys stick to the coffee or brownies and make sure you have lots of cash as well as its very costly.
Stopped in here tonight after an early dinner for a bit of dessert and coffee. My husband ordered the brownie with chocolate sauce, ice cream and strawberries. It was amazing!! We could not finish it even between four of us. My friend ordered some kind of hot chocolate but could not even drink half - it was just too rich after dinner and brownie. My only complaint would be the price, it was $37 for just one brownie and 4 teas/hot chocs. But still, very yummy!!!
