Overview of Salonbim

This cafe has a great feel - none of the steely warehouse look here - the ceilings are decorated, the tables and chairs all wooden. You can sit at either of the window benches, or at one of the tables. It sits on the street corner and has large windows on both sides looking out on the streets.

I had the Whisk & Pin muesli - the honey yoghurt was perfectly sweet enough, and the orange cut in four arranged delightfully. My boyfriend, who's been raving about this place for months, had the toasted ham and cheese croissant which was delish. Apparently the soups are to die for. Will look forward to lunch there.

As the customers came in one by one, the owner knew everyone by first name (friendly and personable service without being over the top). Interesting artwork on the walls in the gallery space adjacent. It's a comfy airy place, great for reading and relaxing.

    This cafe is a marvellous place to sit and read, eat, drink coffee, chat and exchange views. The owner is charming and amusing, the food is delicious and the coffee first rate and it's prices are extremely reasonable.

    One of Petersham's assets. A great local cafe, with wonderful Molinari coffee, expertly made, and generous sandwiches on top Italian ciabatta.

    Heart-warming soups in winter, bright and sunny space. Great place to chill out with the papers.

    Great environment, something very relaxing about this cafe. That being said, the one friendly senior staff wasn't able to do more than one order at a time, so I wouldn't go here if you were in a hurry. Food also limited to sandwiches, and a few other items.
