We came here for lunch mid week, although it was busy there are plenty of tables available upstairs at the back. The restaurant isn't fancy.

The service is fast and the food was on the table within five minutes of us placing our order. Great if you're in a hurry or on your lunch break.

We had the handmade Gyoza which were excellent, the spring rolls and Nigiri Tuna, the Tuna was delicious. I had the tempura prawn roll which would have been tastier with the omission of the egg. My friend had the Chicken Katsu don.

Lunch came to $42 including two soft drinks which is exceptional value given the quantity of the food. I will definitely come back for the Nigiri.

Disappointing. My mother said the tempura was the worst she'd ever had. The pork shagayaki tastes was like tough pork covered in bottled chinese sweet and sour sauce. On the positive side, the sashimi and miso soup were nice.

The food was disgusting. I will never go there again. I ordered Chicken Katsudon: the chicken was Rare, totally Red, not pink, but Red. I didn't eat much of it for fear of getting ill.

The service was rushed (it wasn't busy that day either) and the waitress ended up over-charging us for a drink my friend and I didn't order. Lucky we checked the bill before paying. Enough said.

Really pleasantly surprised. Knowing nothing much about Japanese food, I've only had it a handful of times, and haven't been particularly impressed. Obviously I wasn't going to the right places. The fish and chips I had were really lovely - the batter was light and the lotus root 'chips' were great. It's a hole-in-the-wall, so expect that kind of ambience and service. $11 for lunch in the middle of the city (and not at a food court), makes it worth a return trip.

Servings were a bit on the small side, but the food is decent and quite cheap. Not a place for the claustrophobic, as it is very small and all the tables are crammed up next to each other.

I was a little disappointed when I came here, the food for myself is only on the average side, decent value and service is pretty quick to attend to you, but then again its so small its claustraphobic! They must be doing something right as people cram into there like sardines but I was left unimpressed unfortunately.

Fantastic, cheap, authentic kushiage restaurant. You won't find better in Sydney. Very reasonably priced, polite and attentive staff. Nice selection of Japanese beer on tap as well as a reasonable shochu and sake menu. Awesome food. Highly recommended.

Love this place! The deep fried crab is amazing. As others have said, the katsu is simply the best you can get in the CBD.
