This place is amazing! Its so fresh and healthy and filling and cheap! So many varieties of felafals, chicken, steak and fish. Great value for money too. I got the roasted capsicum felafal. Was not dry at all. So much flavour. Waiter was nice. Recommend it to anyone.

Had a vegetarian falafel called tunisian which had sooo yummy pesto falafel balls, eggplant, tabouli and they even have wholemeal pitas, the first place I have seen wholemeal pitas at, good job guys! Fast service, always fresh produce and ingrediences. Great choice for lunch and dinner, they also have nice middle eastern desserts and allpress coffee. Will be back again and again!

I've had lunch here twice in the last few weeks - once on a busy Saturday with friends during Sculpture by the Sea, and another on a quiet Thursday with some family members visiting from overseas. On both visits the service was efficient and friendly, and all of us found the pitas to be great value for money (seriously, one overstuffed pita plus a drink and I'm good for at least the next 5 hours). It's lovely to sit outside around the corner and watch all the goings-on in the Kosher Triangle.

After eating felafals nearly every day during a 2 week trip in the middle east, I can happily say that sabbaba certainly make tasty authentic food! My husband and I are from Melbourne and we accidentally stumbled upon sabbaba when we were walking through Bondi looking for a cheap dinner on a saturday night. We were delighted at all the options on the menu that were under $10. We were both very full at the end of our meal and ended up going to the newtown store two days later before we headed back home! Love it!

Love this place. My partner and I usually share a $17 mixed plate and a $12 holoumi plate. Absolutely spectacular!

Just tried the new Sabbaba in Newtown, its' no surprise that the food is still great, staff are friendly, but the store is larger. Still haven't tried everything on the menu, so will definitely be back!

I've been coming here for over 10 years and must say it's one of the best places ever. The food is always fresh and tasty and the service so pleasant and friendly. Was away for a year and just got back and was the first place I visited as soon as I came back. My favourite is the falafel plate as I'm a vegan. Huge servings lots of salad, dips and crunchy yummy falafel balls. See you soon!

Rude staff. The food is nice but be careful of the staff. I questioned a staff member on the incorrect change I was given and was verbally abused and told that I had a 'bad attitude'. I am a local in the area and have heard this from several people. Go to enjoy the authentic food but not the staff.

What a disappointment. I'm not sure what happened to this place as I used to eat there often and it was rather decent. Went there the other night and ordered a 'meat plate' - the jerusalem mix, asking them specifically to leave out the dips and just put some extra salad/pickles instead. I'd happily pay $17.50 for a decent serve of meat and vegetable instead of paying the regular $10 for a smaller serving in a pita bread (I don't eat bread). So far so good.

When the meal arrived it was.. well, ridiculous to say the least. A large plate with 2 tablespoons of salad, 1 tablespoon of pickled cabbage and about 3 tablespoons of the jerusalem mix (mixed meats), most of which was fried onion. The other side of the plate (and about 60% of the plates total surface area) looked like someone had spilled tahini all over the plate.

I was actually rather shocked at the ridiculously small serving of a very cheap meat (chicken liver/heart), the price they charged for it and the nerve they had to bring this out as a main meal. To make matters worse when I pointed out to them that I specifically asked for no dips and extra salad the waiter just said "this is how it comes".

And, the jerusalem mix was uncomfortably salty. Its a shame because, being israeli, I really do enjoy this food when its done well and I had enjoyed Sabbaba in the past. But after this experience I really felt like I was being taken for a ride. Won't be back as a matter of principle. Bad food, bad value, poor service.
