Fast takeaway service, limited seating but plenty of reading material generously left scattered about the place. For anyone in need of a fast food fix and a beaut coffee to wash it down with, Ryan's is one of the best choices you'll find east of Redfern Station.

I keep coming back for this great focaccia they make, stuffed full of turkey, loads of yummy roast veges, avocado, salad and cheese it makes a really tasty lunch break.

Good coffee and bacon and egg roll combos. Good prices for the lovely mixed community of Redfern where often the lower earning families miss out on tasty and affordable cafe/restaurant food.

I'm a semi-regular customer and have found the service in particular to be exceptional. Good value food, an ever-growing menu and great service will keep me coming back and recommending it to other locals.

I'm a regular at Ryan's. The place is friendly with fast service and you know you're in a good cafe when the staff and regulars refer to each other by name. Standout meals from Ryan's are the Vietnamese pork rolls, the goi cuon (ricepaper rolls), the chicken caesar salads and the frankly heart-stopping bacon and egg rolls.

On a cold and blustery Redfern morning, a $6 coffee and bacon and egg roll combo hits the spot every time. The eggs in the roll are cooked to perfection with just a slight run to the yolks and the bacon is always crisp and fresh. The bread is obviously made by a very good Viet baker and is the best fresh bread I have found in Redfern. For a real treat, get the bacon and egg roll with onion, and BBQ and chilli sauce.

Many times I have stopped here after riding in from the Blue Mountains on my motorcycle and had my body heat and sanity saved by their food. The Viet pork rolls are also among the best I've ever had, and having a bit of a fetish for them, I've had them everywhere. Once again, the perfection of the bread rolls used adds to the experience.

They also have a great range of ready-to-take salads, sandwiches, wraps, rolls, slices and cookies to tempt the palate. If you are in the mood for something sweet, the caramel macadamia slice is the pick of the litter, although they're all pretty good.

Seating is precarious in that there's not a lot of it, and what there is, is hard wood, and the presence of roaring traffic on Regent St does detract a bit, but the food makes up for this a hundred times over. Anyway, most folks don't come here to sit down, they come here to grab and go. If you're looking for fast, tasty, good value cafe/takeaway food and coffee without pretentions, Ryan's is the best you'll find in Redfern. I'm a very happy customer!
