The only time I go to the Roxy is when they have a band or festival on. I have been with a big bunch of friends and because one of my mates didn't have the "look" we all were not allowed in. Drinks are over priced even Red Bull was overpriced.
I use to go out to Roxy on weekends often with groups of friends, I’ve lost my wallet there before and tried to find it and all the bar staff were really not helpful at all. I offered to give them my details in case it showed up but nobody would take them. One bartender just stared at me as if I were stupid in asking him to take my details, and told me "its gone you're never going to find it" Luckily I called in at 5am as I got home and then went to retrieve it from the manager, otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten it back because I had no contact details inside it.
The securities are also terrible at their job, once I walked through with a couple of my friends who are all girls, and then I turned around to notice my boyfriend still standing outside. Because, apparently...it was "guest list only"...oh, of course coz me and my friends were on "the list" and all...so we left and went to OneWorld Sport where we had a much better evening and the guards were not discriminative but were friendly, I haven’t been to Roxy since and don’t ever plan on going back.
Actually came here expecting to eat Thai but the resto has changed. Decided to eat here anyway as we were starving. Food was fantastic. Presentation was the best I've seen from a bar.
I had the Rib Eye steak which was beautiful. Perfectly cooked. Tried some food from the rest of the group too. The Southern Thai style curry was amazing. It was essentially a Musamun I think. The Blue Eye Cod was really nice as well. See ya next time.
Gordon Ramsay would love it! Outstanding setting! The beautiful old Roxy Theatre complex turned into a lovely bar and restaurant - WOW! We live in Parramatta and the new Realm Restaurant in the Roxy is great. Have eaten there three times in the last two weeks. Great food, great service, excellent value. The Roxy is truly the Queen of Parramatta. A "Must Visit"!
I recently attended a function at the Roxy Hotel on a friday evening. It was a great evening, the drinks were fantastic (especially the cocktails) and the staff were friendly and not afraid to have a laugh with us. There is also a new restaurant there, and the food was excellent.
This place is great. It was really busy the night I went and fortunately it didn't take too long to get in. There were plenty of girls which is great as most places in Parramatta are full of guys. We ate at the new restaurant which is much better and the food is delicious. Will be back for sure.
I went here with a mate for a drink one night, we eventually got in after the cheeky bouncers tried to not let us in. Anyway once inside the drink was pretty expensive. The atmosphere in the outside seating area was more a "look at me I'm so beautiful type" the inside where the nightclub is was ok music but the crowd inside was more a young crowd who didn't know how to dance and where more interested in looking hard or just being show offs in general than trying to just enjoy the vibe!, I won't be back!!!
I wish I could attach a picture. Went to the Roxy for lunch at the revamped restaurant. I ordered a grilled Barramundi and asked for no chips and handed for $20. When it arrived the plate was basically all chips and I asked why. The waitress looked at the chef who looked at the waitress who looked at the order and said, look it said no chips, helpful. I said are you sure this is the fish? I now knew why they had still added the chips.
Without the chips there would have been nothing on the plate. The plate was all chips and hidden under the ships were 3 weird sized pieces of overcooked fish smothered in tartar sauce. One fish piece was 7 cm by 3 cm and the other 2 pieces were 5 cm by 2 cm. I couldn't taste the fish for the tartar sauce but I could tell it was dry and overcooked.
The salad it came with was just lettuce tomato cucumber and onion, drowned in oil with a few mustard seeds on top. You disappoint me once again Roxy $20 for chips I didn't want (or eat) and would you like some salad with your oil?
I found a hair in my noodles. I took it inside and showed the girl working and just gave me a vacant stare. I showed her again and asked for my money back. (I'd only had one mouth full and it was awful) she didn't say a word, took my plate and showed the Chef. He started yelling in Thai but I'm cluey enough to know it wasn't about the weather. He told me they don't refund!!! There was no way in hell I was going to leave it at that. I demanded my money back and after they realised I could stay and cause a scene all night if I had too, they reluctantly handed over a third of what I paid for it.
