Unless you were told about this place, you wouldn't guess how fantastic the food is. It has an excellent menu and it was difficult to make a decision. Inside the place looks like an sporting club (well it is) with a decent selection of beers, spirits and wines (house) at the bar. Nothing fancy but just perfect.

We took our drinks in, and our waiter got more for us from the bar when needed. We had 3 courses plus coffee and a couple of glasses wines each, less than $120. It would be nice if they were open later than 9pm, but that's probably a licensing thing. Can't wait to go back.

I have been to the Rowers Retreat many times and I must say this would be the best place to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Food is fresh and fantastic, Service is friendly and attentive and very good value. Its a Must!

Rowers Retreat is a great find, a little odd location wise and in a not too sexy RSL style club But it is really good. Location is sensational on the water overlooking the bay towards iron cove bridge, nice breeze blowing and a warm summer afternoon it was spot on.

Drinks are cheap at club prices but the range is limited, not the place to come for an epic bottle of wine but if you like a decent (cheap) wine and a good cold beer - this is the place.

Food is very nice indeed, had some salt and pepper calamari to share and it was fresh and flavoursome. All had various incarnations of fish for main and we all liked it, my flat head was plentiful and lightly fried. The barra was excellent (so mum says) and the sole was great (so wife says). All came with ample chips and or salad.

Service was attentive and casual, befitting the place. Prices were ok and I would definitely come back again.

Tasty food, cooks are italian. Plenty of choice on the menu. Prices reasonable.
Had a hard time making a decision for mains as lots of excellent choice. Decor is Ok, it is a club type atmosphere. Would be lovely in summer sitting outside.

The blackboard menu changes regularily. The food is good for a UTS joint. Very reasonable and cold beer, good in summer.

We arrived without a reservation to find the main restaurant closed for a function (it was election night), but a table was found. The food was first class and the service could not be faulted. You won't get better than this for the price even in Sydney.

This is always one of the best places locally with a relaxed atmosphere and a view over Iron Cove Bay. The food is not bad at all and the service very pleasant.

Great location and a good watering hole but as far as the restaurant goes, it falls short with service and now the food has dropped a notch from previous outings. It was only average in the past but the location had us returning and that won't be happening again. The seafood platter was a big disappointment with rubbery bbq octopus and the canelloni were dry and rather tasteless.

The girls in their 'disco' attire have disappeared and now so has the food standard.
Great for a drink though!

Relaxed layback, members & locals watering hole, good atmosphere, nice to have a water view.

Service was a little flat, though one guy did show an understanding of hospitality and service.

Enjoyed the food, cooked to perfection. It’s on my list of places to return to for dinner not romance.

Reasonable value, $40 = covers a Beer, Main meal, Desert & Coffee.
