This used to be the best pub bistro in Parramatta bar none. But recently have been very disappointed with every aspect of the hotel. Firstly the staff, especially the older lady, do not appear to want to be there. A smile wouldn’t kill them. Then last time we visited four meals were ordered together, one came out then fifteen minutes later another two came out followed another fifteen minutes later by the fourth meal which was cold.
My son had a steak that was thrown on the plate with overcooked chips and no salad or gravy even though they were ordered. When I approached the staff with my concerns no apology was offered and we left and will not return. Bring back the chefs that used to be there and explain to the staff the concept of the "Hospitality" industry.

I have been to the Rose and Crown several times with family and friends. The food has been consistently good with one exception which was promptly rectified. The meals and drinks are great value and the staff friendly and helpful. Great, solid pub where everyone would feel welcome. If you are after a place to impress with wanky food or decor don't bother going.

Great pub meal! The bar staff bar, a few have about as much personality as a wet sock. I think I'd experience more atmosphere in a vacuum. Way too much sport blaring on large televisions while you're trying to eat you meal.

Staff seemed to not want to be there not helpful or interested at all in customers needs. Seemed to be like thier social outing for the week... food, well should just stay home and make a bit of toast!!!

The first time we went we had a great experience as with the second. The third however utterly regretful, the food was unedible to say the least. When I had to return the cold Nachos which I found under a heavy blanket of cheese I was assured that a new one would be made. That was not the case, it appeared to have been placed under heat lights and resent.
I then left the establishment hungry. The kitchen staff which just appeared to be a very unhappy apprentice and a waitress were not very helpful. So we won't be going back.

This place has really imporved since the renovations, really nice food and still really quite cheap. Will be going back regularly.

Great value meals, the food is well presented, with large servings. The Chicken Schnitzel is huge. I recommend it if you enjoy nice pub food.

The Rose and Crown Hotel is one of my regular places to eat. The food is great no fuss pub food and the prices are beyond amazing, you can get their weekly special roasts for $10 and I promise you will not see one part of your plate when it comes to your table, as the serving sizes are huge!
I personally always have the Chicken Schnitzel. The large serving means I never ever finish it but it's just like a good home cooked meal. The staff at the Rose and Crown are also fantastic and you get a bit of a family feel of the place. I recommend anyone who likes good pub food in a great environment to eat here.

Really great place! Food is so cheap and top quality! (I'm talking scotch fillet with veggies for 13 bucks). Not necessarily a place for a first date (it is a pub) but if you're after a good quality and cheap feed, this is the place to go. Try it out! you won't be disappointed.

If you want ritz and glamour this isn't the place, but for great food at very reasonable prices you can't beat it. We've been there in a small group, as a couple, and now as part of a work function.
The enclosed courtyard makes for a very relaxed environment, and my partner likes the fact he can watch the sports on the big screen. Kids are welcome and the price is right. The food is consistently good, with only one disappointment, but that was due to personal taste rather than any failing by the chefs!
