Waiter staff needs to be more professional. Not carry on personal conversations about work conditions. They need to be passionate about their job. Really enjoyed the food. Don't know if we would go back!

This restaurant could be ok but is let down by the guy with the tache on the front desk. The restaurant was dead and when we asked to sit a little further away from the front door (where there was loads of seats) the waitress said it wouldn't be a problem as they were quiet. She approached the guy at the desk who abruptly said they were all booked and we would have to sit by the entrance. He also made other diners who came slightly after us do the same. The strategy was clear - he wanted to make the restaurant appear busy by putting everyone in full view of passers by.

Interestingly when those seats were full, new diners were seated where we wanted to sit - even though it was clear they didn't have a reservation (we were in earshot of their arrival). I get the strategy, but if a diner requests to sit somewhere where it genuinely isn't booked, forcing them to sit somewhere to make you look busy probably isn't the best way to go, you will only achieve a disgruntled customer. Disappointed, and they lost my $20 tip because of it. It was the 2nd time we have been, and apparently it was the same guy first time around! Won't be going back.

We just had the most amazing food at whale beach Ripples. Everything from presentation to taste was spot on. The staff were so relaxed at friendly. They made us feel so welcome and happy to serve us. The setting reflected both the service and food. Thank you for an awesome night. We can't wait to come back!

Dined here on the weekend. Very busy sitting with 2 large parties in the restaurant. Our orders were taken quickly and entrees served and things then started to stop. Waited near hour for mains and further 45 minutes for one dessert. When asked why the delay, response was due to large groups and then happily offered bread (which were then charged for). Agree that the restaurant would better be served 5 metres higher rather than sitting lower than the beach carpark. Having said all that, gnocchi was to die for!

Over rated and over priced. We went there for Sunday lunch and noted how the service declined when we said we didn't need the wine list and the waiter obviously realised it wasn't going to be a big bill. Won't go back!

Regrettably, this does not compare with the other Ripples restaurants. Operating level is below street level and sitting outside, all one sees are the wheels and undercarriages of the cars parked outside. No need to drive all the way to Whale Beach for this!

Food was fabulous but the service was beyond bad. Sides didn't come out until after we were finished for our mains, for example. Waiter took 30 minutes to ask for a dessert order. The restaurant wasn't full yet orders were going to the wrong tables. Really the service couldn't have been much worse. That said the food and location are lovely.

Have just been down there for the second time in two weeks. The new menu is fantastic. Would highly recommend a visit. The scallop entree was lovely and the crispy skin ocean trout was to die for. All in all it was great.

It may be close to the sea, but its in a car park. They seem incapable of getting an order correct and its got to such a stage now that we go there just to see how wrong they can get it. I suggest you take some friends who are betting people and make an event of it. When we have visitors we tell them about the cock-ups (they never believe us) and take them there. In terms of getting it wrong we've never been disappointed. Go there if your favourite game is roulette, otherwise avoid.

Have dined here twice and found the food, service, variety and setting fantastic. Fresh food, attentive waiters, a local restaurant that offers a great alternative, will be back!
