Wow! What a great place. We went there for lunch on a quiet Wednesday and it was full of people enjoying the food, service and ambience.

My friend lives around the corner and she has been there several times, all good. She was also most impressed with how the owners involved the neighbours in their renovation of the restaurant and even had an opening party and Christmas party for them.

We had 3 daily special salads, an eggs florentine and a smoked trout salad. All were delicious. Full marks. I only hope I can get a table next time I go there!

Absolutely a stand out among a sea of average breakfast venue choices! From our arrival to the packed cafe we were welcomed warmly and given an apologetic estimate of 20 minutes before we could get a table. Even this small gesture of assurance in a cafe is an effective way to diffuse impatience.

The flavours of the breakfast were beautiful, some curry-infused oil giving the scrambled eggs a delicious twist. The presentation is spectacular with non-matching bone china plates and cups. This, the wooden floors and happily cluttered floor plan combined with the fact of Revolver being tucked away from the madness of Parramatta rd or Booth Street makes it feel as if you're in some country kitchen. Just sublime and the coffee! Finally somewhere outside of Italy that serves an espresso with a chaser of cold sparkling water, love it.

Finally, it was a gesture more reminiscent of a restaurant than a cafe when a manager ernestly enquired as to how you enjoyed your meal, we will be back. Many times.

I live locally and was ecstatic to see something open up at the 'Mermaid Cafe'. We have eaten here many times. The coffee is superb and the ambience is busy but enjoyable.

The concept of the food is great. A small but interesting menu with a few quirky options. I feel after a few patchy meals that it's sometimes let down by the execution. My absolute favourite breakfast dish is scrambled eggs with bacon and hollandaise and was thrilled to see it on the menu. I like the fact that it's all mixed together. However, when I got the dish it seemed like the bacon wasn't cooked and was very fatty. A few little niggly things like that is why I have rated it lower for food but overall it's a great cafe. You just learn to choose certain things off the menu.

This is the perfect little cafe, great decor, excellent food with specials that change daily, genuine, natural and some of the friendliest service in the business, I'm glad I'm only a walk away, but I'd travel to this one too.

We had a great Sunday breakfast here on the weekend. We wandered down around 8:30 am and found a spare table right next to the window and had ordered within 5 minutes.

Great coffee (competes with Little Marionette and Campos for best coffee), lovely tea and beautiful food made the experience so nice. Ricotta hotcakes and the trout had us both filled up and happy. The bill was surprisingly small and we'll definitely be back!

Fantastic. Was wanting to go here ever since I saw the write up in the SMH and read that Rod runs the show. I knew Rod from his days at Spring Cafe, Potts Point years and years ago. Upon walking in, the design of the place really stood out. Interior decor compliments the old building it is in. The chairs, tables, marble topped counter, fireplace, china plates and the salt and pepper shakers all give a nod to times past.

We had breakfast here on Saturday. The different versions of scrambled egg are delicious. My partner had the scrambled egg with bacon and I had the scrambled egg with a tomato, fetta and rocket salad. This I would recommend to anyone. The coffee very good.

We came back again the next day to try other breakfast items. Partner loved his Bircher Muesli this time round. Could not fault anything about this place, the service, food, coffee and atmosphere was excellent.

So nice to see a local cafe in Annandale with great atmosphere, food and customer service that is a stand out. Coffee is great as is the home made melting moments and muffins. On my last visit we ordered lunch, I had the big breaky and it was impressive, 2 eggs, beans, tomatoe, bacon (can't remember what else there was) plus bread. Very satisfying and tasty.

My friend had the cheese burger. Talk about big and wholesome. Very good value. The staff are very friendly and professional as is the owner who took time to chat to us. The walk to Revolver is worth it so go and check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Been here a few times and love it! The owners mum makes the best melting moments, cherry chocolate slice and sultana slice. And the muffins are delicious too. The china bone teacups and plates remind me of my grandma, but at this cafe it works well with their overall ambience.

Friendly staff, wonderful food (my cheeseburger was excellent!), and a modern yet cosy atmosphere, this cafe ticks all the right boxes, clearly the owner has thought this one through. Also love the neighbourhood feel to it, and wish it was in mine instead of someone elses!

Two thumbs up! Coffee was great as are the herbal tea infusions served in old fashioned china cups and a mini hourglass to time the brew to perfection. Food is fabulous and a refreshing change from the usual brunch fare.
