Hmmm, liked the sandwich a lot. Thick cut rye bread, nice wagyu meat, pickles and russian salad. Was served quickly and very tasty.

Bit of a rabble with the numbering system being yelled out, seating is a lottery depending on the time of day you go and completely agree with the comments about value, it is one helluva expensive sandwich, wanted someone to hand feed it to me for $17!

I had great expectations but was disappointed by Reuben and Moore in the new Westfield food hall. I was underwhelmed by my crispy pork roll, it was under seasoned and full of gristle and fat, including a diet coke it cost $17. My friend had the schnitzel roll and said it was bland.

I had to purchase a sandwich for my daughter today. I always try to buy a healthier alternative but as she is lactose intolerant this is not always easy. At Reuben & Moore I requested a ham sandwich. I was informed that I had to be charged for the 'Kristy' even though I wouldn't be getting the cheese, tomato, jam and mayo. Without an alternative available I had no choice. To top it off the bread wasn't fresh and the ham was tasteless.

This place looks great, you're thinking finally a NY style deli in Sydney. I had the Rachel and got a millimeter thick 2 slices of pastrami and a lot of cabbage on okay rye bread. It tasted good, but at $16 you need to put some meat on the sandwich. Not good enough.

The most tasteless sandwich I have ever eaten & one of the most expensive. The rye bread was fresh but too thick & the pickles were limp. One small slice of salt beef looked sad & lonely & not like the New York counterpart. I tried a reuben during happy hour maybe this made a difference . Won't be back.

It is quite the curiosity that is the food palace crowning Westfield Sydney. Having worked in Pitt Street Mall once upon a time I can't help but think of the shallow but worthy food court in the basement before it's transformation.

What I do like about Level 5 is the feeling of being able to roam about and peruse all the offers without needing to race off should someone ask you to place an order. I also visited before the 2nd phase of this food world opened up last week so I'm really looking forward to it.

In any case, I've watched far too many cooking shows focused on US diners and New York deli's offering these massive sandwiches and wondered why we've never tasted them here. Finally, we get a try at Reuben & Moore, though I'm thinking it's not quite on the scale of what one could expect in America.

We have both gone for the Reuben, lots and lots of slow cooked beef, served with pickles, maybe some mustard and ordered the rosemary and pink salt fries on the side. The best thing about this place is the theatre of seeing all these beastly meats slow cooking away in the open kitchen behind and wishing to sample the lot. But no, just the one shall do for us today.

To pick bones, the bread could've been a tad fresher, but overall it's akin to a dirty burger at Macca's, in the sense that you eat the lot, awfully quicker than you imagined. It was lush. The fries just did the trick in the sense that the carb buffer offered a nice fullness balance to it.

We left wondering with if this place was out in the street, amongst the Sydney CBD lunch crowd, or a shopfront in Oxford St, would it gain a cult following? Whatever it is, they shouldn't stop now.
