Went there last night for dinner for the first time with a friend. This restaurant is hard to spot unless you go past frequently. We had the Beef Carpaccio to share for entree which had some little edible flowers and some onion, tomato jam and horseradish cream on the side. This was just delicious.
For mains my friend had pasta while I had the duck with fig and sauce. The duck was cooked to perfection and the sauce went beautifully. I normally don't eat figs but the produce was excellent. We had the chocolate flourless cake and the Chocolate Hot Pot for desserts and I would have ordered another plate had I not been full.
There was no tv in there which was a big plus, I'm sick of seeing restaurants with tv's. And the music they had playing was some mellow jazz which gave the place a very nice atmosphere. It was quiet being a Tuesday night so the chef was also our waiter. You would not have known. The service was excellent, we were never left waiting and the wine was great.
We're going back again for the roast pigs head in a couple of weeks.

This ranks as my worst ever breakfast experience. The service was slow (we saw three separate tables walk out because it was obvious to them - mistakenly we thought that this would work in our favour) and the food took over forty minutes to come out. When it did it was luke warm, my wife had to wait an extra ten minutes to get her poached eggs! I was keen for another cup of coffee but knew better than to ask as that might have delayed the awful experience even longer. Other peoples food was burnt.
And through of this not one acknowledgement or apology for the length of time taken. Will never bother with this place again.

My friend and I visited this new restaurant last Friday night. The place presents very well, comfortable and well set out, and well set tables. However, on leaving at 9 pm, there were 3 smokers crowded around the front entrance to the verandah, and we had to walk closely past them which was Very unpleasant.
The young waiter was friendly and efficient, but obviously inexperienced. He couldn't explain much about the menu. He had to run back and forwards with the questions, and was not able to expand on any of the information he was given from the kitchen. The older waitress who brought the bill couldn't raise a smile all night, and seemed to be not enjoying her work very much at all.
We weren't alerted to the blackboard menu, which was located directly above us on the wall, and we didn't see it, and couldn't read it anyway. The a la carte menu was smallish, but had variety. My friend chose the trout with Asian greens which looked and tasted great, although it was wrapped in a parcel of baking paper which detracted from the presentation.
I chose the duck with figs and sauce. Bad choice. It was severely undercooked, pink, the flesh so stuck to the bone I had to leave half of it behind. The skin was tough and tasteless. It was presented on a bed of mash, with a couple of small figs in sauce trailing out along the coldish plate. The figs and sauce were good. I think the chef needs to do a re-think on this dish, but I like the idea of eating Hawkesbury Duck. It really needed some accompanying vegetable or salad to complete the dish.
The sweets menu was very ordinary, only a couple of choices, which needed very little effort to prepare. The blue cheese plate tasted good, but was small in volume, even though spread out all over a big plate.
All in all, a good eatery, but still needs some tweeking in some areas. I would re-visit to try some of the other menu options.

This place has potential to be great but is just not there yet. Overall was good, but just a few minor things detracted from our dinner.
A few dishes were good even though not great. But the tuna was more than seared, it was dry and way overcooked. The chocolate tasting plate and fondant were great for dessert. Service could have done with a smile but overall was fine. Value not too bad.
With the minor glitches fixed (I think they will be as the chef seems to listen to his customers) it could be a great restaurant away from the city.

I brought my family for dinner after meeting jarryd, and was very pleased to see such a warm and homely place. The food is outstanding, it shadows everything else in the hawkesbury. Simple, well cooked and well priced dishes were abundant.
I had the pork belly with cabbage and apple for entree. While a little dry the flavor was intense and to die for. I had the wagyu beef rump for main, cooked to perfection. It was a very large piece of meat, however. I also would have liked to have seen more vegetables on the plate, but very satisfying all the same. The chunky chips will become a signature, I could have had several kilos of them!
For dessert I had a lovely vanilla pannacotta with berry coulis. Simple, tasty, perfect. I tried my partners chocolate fondant, and will definitely be getting it next time.
Give this hidden gem a try, the food is plentiful, affordable and hits every spot. Thanks for a great night jarryd!

Went there last night for my birthday with my husband and friends. I can say the evening was great.
The food was the best we have eaten in the district. We have recently moved to Agnes Banks and have been trying all the local eateries, this one has come up trumps. One thing I would mention as a tip to the young owner, whom we had a great chat with before leaving. Train your young waiter the correct way to serve food and remove plates. He was very friendly and helpful just needs a little polish.
I would hate to see this small thing ruin the fantastic reputation of this restaurant, which will no doubt have, as being the "the best" in the area. Well done and how refreshing to see a young man accomplish what he has. Our friends came from North Rocks to join us and they will definitely be back, as will we!

Brilliant! What else can I say. We had a table of 8 last saturday night. All left with smiles on our faces. The Restaurant was very busy, the wait for food was on the long side, but the amuse bouche of cauliflower and blue cheese soup made up for that. Without doubt this is the restaurant Windsor has been waiting for, for so long. Thank you all the staff at restaurant 22 for a brilliant night.

My husband and I went to Restaurant 22 for dinner tonight and loved it! It's so nice to see a contemporary new place in the Hawkesbury. We were greeted by live music (perfect dinner volume) and the friendly owner. By the time we were seated, complimentary bread and olives were on the table which was a nice touch. We both had the eye fillet for mains which were perfectly cooked.
My favourite dessert, chocolate fondant, was on the menu and it was luscious with the real vanilla bean ice cream. Will be back to try the tastings menu next time. This place is definitely one to try!

Have just found the Hawkesbury/Hills best kept secret. Food great chicken supreme fantastic Perch in a bag to die for. Fab Customer service, friendly and welcoming. Restaurant warm and very comfortable important on a very cold day. The chef came out to check on 'how is everything' a sign of confidence that all will be great. Will Definitely go back and recommend to others. Eat your heart out Jamie Oliver you have competition!

Went there on sat night just gone, we had the beetroot and goats cheese stacks from the special board and the scallops with black pudding for entree. Both were absolutely incredible. For mains I had the Barramundi cooked in the bag, when the waitperson (who was lovely by the way) opened the bag the smell was divine, and it tasted even better. My partner had a T bone which was massive and cooked to perfection, He chose a blue cheese butter as his condiment, that was sensational.
For dessert we shared a choc tasting plate, being a chocoholic it was like being in heaven. Overall a very impressive new restaurant that we will be going back to again and again.
