With such beautiful surroundings you would expect to get a meal that is at least fair! However, we ordered the Roast Lamb, and it was not good. It was tough, tasteless and more bone than meat. I had about 3 mouthfuls of meat and the rest could not be cut off the bone! It was served with 2 slices of potato and 2 pieces of carrot! Whoopie! All this was priced at $29 which was way over priced for a meal that I would not serve my dog. Sorry but you have to do better than that! The service was good but please learn to cook!

We enjoyed a beautiful meal last Friday night. I've always loved the the decor and ambience of this location either for breakfast, a casual afternoon tea or a special occasion function, it covers every type of situation without disappointment. We stopped going about 18 months ago because the chef changed and I wasn't as impressed with the meals but we met the more recent chef (Andrew) on Friday night and the quality and presentation were outstanding, so we're looking forward to going more often as we used to.

My partner and I have been going once a month since July 2011, the service is great, the mousaka is to die for and so is the poached pear! The staff are really friendly, we love it.

We went here for breakfast 1/4/11 for a special occasion, unfortunately, the food and service were not good at all, we arrived at 9 am and we're the first and only customers, service was slow and unwelcoming and the food when it arrived was cold and uninspiring and very disappointing. All of this failed to live up to the beautiful surrounds and architecture, we will never bother again, which is a shame as we are 3 local couple that love to enjoy a nice meal together and this would have been a perfect spot.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the quality of the food because we didn't get any. 13 of us, 9 adults and 4 children, decided to dine there for mothers day lunch. It was pretty quiet when we arrived, only 1/4 of the tables were occupied. It took us 30 minutes to finally get someones attention and place our order and to order some refreshments. In the two hours we spent there we had received a bottle of wine and four entrees.
Being Mothers Day we were paying $70 a head for adults and $35 a head for children, plus drinks. The service from the manager and wait staff was nothing short of appalling. We were very patient and polite and asked four or five staff members, including the senior staff when we could expect our entrees. Not a single one of them apologised or even replied at all for that matter. They all walked away as if they were on the case and not one of them, including the senior staff ever returned.
They simply went about their duties, which appeared to be wandering around aimlessly with no idea what they should be doing. After being avoided by all the staff for two hours we threw in the towel and decided to leave. We couldn't part with that much money for a place that obviously had no desire to serve us or make us feel at all welcome.
Even when all 13 of us got up to leave without eating a thing not one staff member acknowledged or approached us. We had to wait at the counter and ask for the senior staff to explain why we were leaving without having eaten a thing in two hours. Before we could explain he just brushed us away and said don't worry about paying for the wine, just go. No apology. No explanation. Didn't even allow us to speak. He just walked away leaving us standing in utter amazment. What a waste of a beautiful afternoon on mothers day.
The staff showed zero initiative and not one of them attempted to take ownership of the situation, or even simply apologise for the wait. The responsibility, however, has to fall on the senior staff who has obviously failed to provide any training or instill any desire in the staff to be friendly and accommodating.
The setting was beautiful, but sadly, that's where the positives ended. Will any of us ever return...? Not a chance. Worst reasturant experience any of us have ever endured and we're a pretty easy going bunch.

A group of five of us went along for a pre-mother's day dinner (Saturday May 07, 2011). We were shown to our table and a waitress promptly came over to place napkins on our laps. She was not particularly friendly and asked of we would like to order some drinks to start. We asked what beers were on tap and my father ordered a Carlton Draught while the others ordered a Corona and wine.
It took a long time for the drinks to come out and when they did the Corona was mistaken for a Crown Lager and the Carlton Draught on tap was totally flat with no head at all. We did not complain since we did want not to spoil the evening. We waited a considerable time before a different waiter came to take our food order.
I ordered the gnocchi for entry and Blue Eye Cod for main while the others ordered salt and pepper squid and beef wellington entrees and all asked for the slow roasted lamb shoulder for mains. After a very long wait the entrees came out and we were told that there were only three lamb shoulder mains left so my father generously agreed to have the whiting fillets instead. My gnocchi was cold and tasteless, the beef wellingtons were very good and the salt and pepper squid was average.
I asked for my water to be topped up and this was extremely slow. After a very long wait for the mains only two came out, my Blue Eye Cod and my father's whiting fillets. We were both hungry and so started our mains while the other three people continued to wait for their lamb mains. My cod was very salty but the fish was well cooked. My father's whiting fillets looked like something you would get at the local fish and chip shop for $8 and it was cold.
When we were both half was through our mains the waiter returned to say that there was a problem and that there was no lamb mains left. At this point I expressed my disappointment and anger and asked to see the senior staff. The senior staff eventually came out in a very defensive mode and spun a web of lies. When I set him straight he tried to weasel out by offering to cook anything quickly in the kitchen.
By this stage most other diners had left or were finished their meals and the other members of our group were past feeling hungry. We left in disgust, will never return and would recommend that others give this place a miss.

This lovely gem has a fantastic chef who whips up delightful food that is not only mouth-watering but also stunningly presented. We were so happy to of stumbled on this wonderful restaurant. We will make this our regular dine out restaurant.
Regal Rendezvous Restaurant has a magnificent garden setting, with the charming atmosphere of a heritage homestead. Great dining on the undercover verandah and seems to cater for all events.
Top class !

A lovely evening. Friendly, efficient staff, pretty tropical gardens, delicious food (though quite on the pricey side). We enjoyed crunchy, warm, homemade bread with olive oil and an amazing balsamic, followed by a delicate bug curry for an entree. Delicious. We both felt like steak-I had the scotch fillet with red wine jus and béarnaise sauce (rare, cooked to perfection) and hubby had the sirloin with Diane sauce, loved it.
Accompanying vegetables were delicious and beautifully presented, so nice not to have to add on 'sides'. Servings were ample and we really couldn't fit dessert, but just had to try the poached pear, which was wonderful. Wine list interesting, coffee good. Recommend!

We had booked the week before, but some mess up with their phone system meant that they lost our booking. However, all was redeemed as they bent over backwards to make up a table of four for us. Across the evening, they certainly tried to make us feel comfortable.
The ambience started out great. There are some really interesting things to read on the walls, and the fireplace made things fell really homely. We actually ended up with a great table in the corner. However, all this was slightly muddied by a 60th wedding anniversary party going on where they had booked out 3/4 of the restaurant. This was slightly offset by the similarly octagenarian playing the piano with one eye shut outside. The piped butchering of Andrew Lloyd Webber classics only just drowned out the PA.
The starters were tasty, if a little meagre. The food was pretty good for me, as I enjoyed the beef fillet, which was excellently cooked. However, my gluten intolerant friend struggled, as one waiter did not know what gluten was, and the others seemed happy just to serve whatever came out of the kitchen. This resulted in about half of the main course being disgarded because of battered vegetables. The dessert was really disappointing, as the creme brulee we all ordered was still custard.
Overall it was good, and we would happily go back again. There are so few restaurants around annangrove that do this food/style well, this restaurant is a stand out. However, make sure you double confirm the bookings, and see if you can avoid other people's special occasions.

There is a very talented chef at the helm of this lovely restaurant now. It is a favourite of mine for Saturday lunch. Had crispy orange duck, delicious. The staff is friendly, the ambience lovely and I would recommend giving this place a try.
