I have been to Red Mint twice now, once in a group of 3 and another in a group of 20. Both times were as enjoyable as the each other. For entrees I have tried the tasting plate, and the Beef & Prawn DIY Vietnamese rolls. For mains I have tried the honey soy chicken, soft shell crab and beef & sesame stir fry. All the food has been fresh and pretty tasty. My least favourite was definitely the beef and sesame stir fry.

Service was generally good and quite attentive and the price is very reasonable considering the location and caliber of food. Couple this with a nice intimate atmosphere, Red Mint is well worth the visit.

My boyfriend and I went here when we were staying just down the road. He, being a fussy eater, was pleasantly surprised that he enjoyed the meals. I enjoyed my squid with tomato (though given the choice would not have it again), and he enjoyed his chicken curry. The tasting plate was good, although I expected better from the reviews.

We were in an empty restaurant for the first little while, which was a surprise given it was world youth day just after the mass. The waitress was hard to understand but attentive and lovely, however I got the impression she was new. Johnny was just wonderful - could not ask for a better host than him.

Was disappointed when the bill came to $95 for the tasting plate, 2 mains and 2 beers but it was a lovely place to be and the ambience was amazing. Wish we could have had a dessert but given they only had two which weren't written down so we couldn't consider it.

We had such a fabulous night at Red Mint! Even with high expectations after reading the glowing reviews, we were happily surprised and impressed with the quality of the experience. From the fun of mixing the viet coffee yourself, to the delicious entrees and mains. The braised pork with quail eggs is uniquely flavoursome and the soft shell crab a delight.

The service is genuine and relaxed. We were even treated to a special dessert for my bf's birthday! We'll definitely be back for more!

Amazing food, truly traditional vietnamese food. Entree tasting plate was fantastic. Waitstaff was attentive and polite and great recommendations. Will be back for more!

Vegetarians stay away from Red Mint. We asked before taking a table if vegetarian food was available and were assured it would be no problem. Only 3 dishes offered - a soup, a curry and some steamed vegetables. Asked if the veges could be spiced up a little like the meat dishes say chilli, basil, or ginger and were told this could not be done. Curry was mediocre and steamed veges bland. A real disappointment.

After reading the reviews here and having the entertainment card, my family came here for lunch on a saturday. The place was empty but it didn't stop us from dining here. The food was good but some of the dishes were a bit salty (duck on betal leaves). Highlights being the scotch fillet cubes and the soft shell crab. Will be going back to try other dishes.

We went for a quick pre show meal. Food was good but they tried to be a little bit too unusual with some of the dishes.

We live in Pyrmont and this is one of our regulars. We've been to Red Mint about 10 times now + had ordered out a few times and we've never had a bad experience. Fantastic place. Great, personal service and wonderful food. We particularly like the roast duck on betel leaves and the rice rolls with sugar cane prawns.
