Came with a voucher and had a lovely experience. Food was quite nice and staff were very friendly and the restaurant had a nice ambience.

Came here with a voucher and wanted to give it a try. Only to be served every dish half the size of what other tables were offered (which was a pity as the food itself was not too bad).

If I had only wanted half a dish, I would have paid full price and shared a dish. There was no point in buying the voucher, they make sure you get what you paid for.

We were one of the first tables to be seated and ordered. However, was always one of the last ones to get the dishes.

The saying of "what you pay for, is what you get" applies here. Be warn if you want to buy a voucher again for this place. May be more worth it to pay full price!

Good Thai food and good value. Whilst slightly more expensive than some other Thai restaurants, the servings are large and if you order a prawn dish, it's served with large barbequed prawns.

Excellent restaurant. Slightly pricier than other Thai's but worth it for the bump up in quality, taste and chef's expertise. Almost reminds me of the difference between a curry house and an Indian restaurant. This isn't a Thai house (i.e. cheap and cheerful), but more of Thai restaurant, with decor, service, drinks menu and quality to match. Well done Red orchid!

We've visited the restaurant last week and I enjoyed it. The restaurant is open, clean and comfortable to dine in. The food is flavoursome with good presentation. We've ordered some standard thai dishes including fish cakes, soft-shell crab, tom yum soup, pad thai, massaman curry etc and they were all good. Pricing and potion size are both reasonable. The only downside was that it was severely understaffed on that evening and it seemed to be only 3 staff (including the cooks) running the whole restaurant... Everyone were multitasking and sweating their butt off, and we had to wait quite sometimes but service was friendly. Overall a great place for casual dining. Will go back again and would recommend!

This restaurant is relatively new and it has great decor. The setting is nice but it rarely gets full. The food is great - we tried a variety of entrees, mains, rice dishes, and noodle dishes. Portion sizes are moderate. There is an excellent range of dishes and the pricing is reasonable.

I was really surprised that a group of us received some sensational Thai dishes in downtown Maroubra Junction. The special fried rice served up in half a pineapple and the lamb shank massaman curry along with the bbq chicken were standouts. We were also not disappointed with many of their noodle dishes we tried. The service and ambience were fine while the whole evening was very affordable.

I dined (dinner) at the newly opened Red Orchid Thai early last week with 2 mates. This place has great potential. Colourful, moody decor in the street level dining section, great for couples and small groups and a huge upstairs dining area which looks perfect for larger groups. The open style kitchen also adds to the atmosphere.

We tried the mixed entree, very nice and satay chicken skewers, (tender and tasty) and shared BBQ Beef, BBQ Chicken, Massaman Lamb Shanks, Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables In Oyster Sauce and Pineapple Fried Rice. All dishes were great but the standouts for me were the BBQ Chicken, the Lamb was tender and melted off the bone and the Pineapple Fried Rice, (delicious - tangy and refreshing).

The service was great, the wait staff were polite and the whole team worked hard to ensure my friends and I were well looked after, (asking several times our thoughts about our chosen dishes). Price wise, very good value.

Overall, an excellent experience. I am now in the process of organising a work dinner there and will write another review to see if they can match the experience with a larger group.
