Went there last night for a friends Birthday. After lining up for 10 minutes was very rudely told by the chef that they were no longer taking orders for about an hour as they were busy. After an hour a friend returned to the line and was told again rudely that he was not ready yet. Finally after another 10 minutes or so we were allow to order.
By this stage half our party had gone somewhere else to eat. What was wrong with taking our order and telling us it would take some time? By 930 pm we had finally started to receive our food. As hungry as I was, I found it to be more than disappointing and was wishing that I had gone down the road to the pizza place were the food was better, the service would have been much nicer and all at a reasonable price. I for one will not be going back there.
My partner and I, along with a friend of ours ate at Razors Edge last night. The starters were excellent, we had the souffle, baked garlic and the prawns. All perfect, the prawns were the freshest I've eaten in a long time. For main course my partner's lamb was excellent. I went for the duck which I didn't love but that was personal preference rather than anything actually wrong with the dish.
Our friend ordered his beef medium and it came out well done, however, we could have pointed this out and asked for another but we didn't. For dessert the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely delicious and a nice sized portion. The creme brulee was nice. Service was exceptional. All in all a very good dining experience, we will definitely be back.
Have to agree with many other reviews with this restaurant, the service is very attentive and "familiar" in a nice comfortable way. However, the food is @ the $$high end for this area of Sydney and it does not really live up to the standard you are paying for.
Service from the kitchen was somewhat slow as well. The meals were average at best, you can get a far better dining experience for the money. Not that they did anything wrong, just wouldn't recommend it as they really didn't do anything to create a memorable dining experience.
Thank you, you met our expectations and more. We had a wonderful meal. Loved the ambience and the food. The service was excellent. Loved my oysters, lamb and creme brulee, while my husband found the pork, and steak equally good. Yes the price is a little bit up there, but what you would expect for the quality you receive. If you want something cheap go somewhere else.
This was our first time and won't be our last. What a great dining experience! The oysters had to be the freshest, creamiest we have had in a long time. The menu is varied, the service is impeccable. and the food delicious. Highly recommended.
A really nice experience. The service was particularly good. Loved the decor. There were many items on the menu I could have requested. My companions were very impressed with the fillet mignon and trout. The lamb was a little dry but had a lovely flavour. Desserts were huge and were as described. Certainly recommend.
Well once again we experienced a wonderful evening at the Razors Edge. Constant attention, with humour "How dare you use the wrong spoon" and food to die for. I took my elderly parents there for a birthday, and they enjoyed it immensely. Thank you Wayne and Ray, and staff.
We enjoyed the roast chicken, the eel parcels, and the oysters, and roast lamb, and the steak. Ray had even kept the last creme brulee aside for my wife because he knew she was coming in to the restaurant a few days after the booking, and he knew how much she loves it. (he actually calls her the creme brulee girl). We finished with a shared cheese platter. Cheers boys and see you again next time!
My group of four very much enjoyed our experience last week. I must say I was initially disappointed as I'd remembered it as a risotto place, but the menu soon changed my mind. There was a good selection of interesting food combinations. The food was very good and the service too. We had an upstairs seat which didn't really deliver on the ambience but we will be back (with bookings donwstairs next time).

What an experience! The waiters make you feel so welcome and the food is stunning in presentation and divine to eat. The perfect place for a celebration, make the night memorable for all. We will certainly be back many more times again. Thank you!
We love Razors Edge. My partner and I have been going to this restaurant for years. Wayne & Ray are so friendly and genuinely strive to provide quality dishes/atmosphere and service. I believe sometimes customers like to treat people working in the hospitality industry like their personal servants.
I believe if you ask a waiter or chef if they can do something slightly different to what is on the menu in a polite manner, and you do not automatically demand that your request can and will be met because you are a 'paying customer' then good restaurants endeavour to try and accommodate.
We have done this ourselves at Razors Edge on rare occasions and Wayne true to form will oblige. If it cannot be done we do not whine and carry on, for us it's a case of 'no worries'. We then choose something else from the menu.
Wayne & Ray are doing an excellent job, the number of years they have been opened is proof enough. Readers go and have a meal there soon.
