Love this place, been there so many times. The food is delicious and if you would like your dishes hot and spicy, just ask them and they will make it for you. The staff are always friendly and the place is always clean.
Fake premises (catering to Anglo aussie plain surroundings) while looking too clean and clinical for my liking, in no way did Lil Neecy and I feel we were dining at an indonesian eatery. The place is in desperate need of an indonesian atmosphere, (waiters dressed like penguins, in the middle of Kinsford for goodness sake? c'mon guys!).
If I choose to eat indonesian, I would like to embrace the food in the right atmosphere. The food was OK, but not exceptional while they really need to address the value for the higher than normal prices they ask for. The Chicken wings supplied as entree although tasty looked more like Budgy wings. Can't see us going again considering the better choice of indonesian up at Randwick, at least we used our discount voucher provided out of the entertainment book.

Pleasant interior and decor - pity the food isn't up to scratch. Found the fried rice noodles to be bland, and a far cry from the authentic kway teow. Chicken was dry and needed more seasoning. Rendang didn't look crash hot either.
Service is pleasing. Can't say much about value though - there is another nearby restaurant where you can get much better quality Indonesian food for half the price.
Ate here after feeling like Indonesian food and checking the review on Eatability, I decided to drive out of my way on a Thursday night to try Ratu Sari out. It's a family owned and run place, and it's very much the authentic Indonesian food. If you're looking for things other than chicken, fish or vegetarian (apart from the Rendang and a few stir fried beef dishes), then your menu options are fairly limited, but the array of dishes are really very good within that.
The family that serves you are attentive without being too overbearing and found that they were very good. They are aware that most Australian taste buds aren't able to cope with a lot of spice, but since we cope with this and asked him to bring out the spiciest, and the food did not disappoint. Our taste buds enjoy heavily spiced food and we thought it could use more spice, but that would mean than it would be very spicy for a lot of taste buds. The waitstaff are very good at helping you select something that matches your spice level though.
All up, $85 for two people with two entrees, three mains, and dessert - not bad at all, I thought, given the portions are generous. BYO with no corkage is a plus, too.
We both had selected menu choices that we want to try next time, so we'll be back again. By the way, if you're interested in this sort of thing, check the corridor to the toilets - it features the chef in a lot of interesting photos, including Maeve O'Meara and Tetsuya Wakuda. My favourite was Maeve and the 12 Chefs in "The Last Supper". The Gado Gado was outstanding, by the way.
This is one of the best Indonesian restaurant in Sydney. I like their noodle and fried wonton for Sunday lunch. Service is good, ambience is ok and the price is reasonable.
An interesting little place in Kingsford, the decor is lovely, very earthy. The food is pretty different to what your used to if you frequent the usual Thai etc. We had the deep fried salted fish which was like have fishy salty chip! The deep fried soft shelled crab was tasty, very crisp and the crab smooth and creamy. We had the beef rendang for main with a spicy prawn dish which was very very hot but finished well.
Desserts are often red bean or green bean with shaved ice and coconut milk and palm suger. We ended up having a triple choc which was chocolate ice cream with cream. The prices a litte more expensive than your average local restaurant in the Anzac Parade strip. The servings are not huge but are well presented and that fine.
The service was friendly but a bit absent minded. The lovely women who took our order did warn us about "Peti"in one dish as would make our breath smell. The other waitresses were a bit absent minded ie they would open beer's but would leave the empty bottles on the table. All in all a few different tastes.
We stumbled upon this place on the way to Fox Studios. and we were very impressed. A very busy place, but despite this I had no problem maintaining conversation. The waiters were very friendly and attentive when you need them to be and left you alone when enjoying your meal.
The dishes are quite spicy, and this was a bit of a shock for someone not used to spice. But despite the heat, the flavours shone through - and the flavors are exquisite. We were so impressed that we came back last Saturday to try more from the menu - and we live on the North side! Again another positive experiance.
The place is very busy, and quite a few people waited, so it's worth booking early.
Do not come to this place if you want a quiet romantic dinner. I found this restaurant to be extremely loud. I had to lean over the table to hear what my partner was saying. It is more of a family restaurant I think, there seemed to be a lot of families there. The room was also very very smokey. When I got home I could smell the smoke from the food through my clothes and on my skin - not a very nice thing.
The food is rather tasty though. I agree with the other reviews it is pretty spicy. There is a lot of seafood on the menu and I don't really like ordering seafood from these types of restaurants because I don't think it would be fresh Australian seafood. There are plenty of meat dishes to choose from as well. I thought the price of the food was cheap.
We ordered mains and rice, used our entertainment voucher and it came to just under $30. I don't think I would go back though, too many screaming kids, the noise and the smoke is all a bit too much.
I haven't been here for a few months, seems like they might have changed the menu since?? Anyway, this restaurant has excellent food. The chicken curry is the best I've tried in Australia. Similar to Singapore chicken curry but better than any I can find here. Also the kankong belacan is fantastic as is the sambal egg (I think they call it telur balado?). All reasonably priced also, at about $12 per dish. I'll have to go back soon and see if it's changed.
