6 of us dined here on Saturday night. We all agreed the $50 set menu represented really good value for the standard and ingredients of this meal. Each course was morish, delicious and elegantly presented. Outstanding was the appetizer (none of us had ever eaten quail egg before) and the eye fillet. Service was OK. Definitely worth another visit.

Friendly service with a good variety of tapas and mains on the menu. Went there with a small group of collegues for a work dinner and I have to agree the food is very good and it's value for money.

Interesting place, have been here twice now, busy, noisy++, tiled floors, tables close together, buzzy open kitchen. Food above average, with good accompanying sauces etc. Wine list is sad! not much choice, you can BYO wine but there is a $3.50 per person corkage fee.

I agree very nice food and beautifully presented but the food took a while in between courses which I found a little frustrating thus the modest service rating. Servings are very reasonable and after five tapas we were absolutely full. We did have a lovely meal at this cosy little restaurant and the service was satisfactory. Lots of birthdays the night we came its noisy and a bit of fun so I might have mine here also.

Really enjoyed everything we ordered here, lots of flavours and it was fresh. Some Irish folk made the place a bit noisy but pleasantly so as it added to the lively atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful although noticeably stressed. Generous portions and quality make it value for money.

Update: We are baffled by some of the poor reviews. We have been coming here for a couple of years now, it’s not cheap but it is good value. We love the new menu, it’s a good mix of contemporary and traditional tapas with flair, and portions are very reasonable and quite filling and are best shared between 3 or 4. The lady maitre'd is loud and controlling but is generally quite charming and she does have a funky fashion sense that we like. Topped off with BYO it has always been an enjoyable night out for us.

You could easily miss this place driving along Oxford St as it’s not easily visible. It’s worth a visit though! Traditional Spanish wrought iron courtyard setting and the food is delicious - the scallops with the black pudding especially. Will be back.

7 of us visited on a Saturday night for dinner. Firstly the good: The place had a homely feel to it and the diners seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our waiter was helpful and forthcoming - he seemed to be the only staff member there who smiled though. The food (that we could get) was pretty good (when we eventually got it).

Unfortunately, we didn't get everything we wanted to order because they had run out of chicken and other ingredients. So we had to ask our waiter what they actually had left! One of the tapas dishes we ordered also mysteriously vanished into thin air. There was quite a long waiting time for our food because of these hiccups. I feel for the waiter who had to tell us "we've ran out of chicken". It would have been quite embarrassing. Maybe they were having another off night?

Took up the "one eats free" offer. The calamere was crispy and delicious. Definitely good value. Great food.

We didn't find this a particularly cheap dinner, but the quality and the flavours more than made up for it. Service was lovely and friendly, buzzy atmosphere. Really good food, tasted Spanish to me. We will be back for sure.

I used to love this place and went back last week after about a years absence. Unfortunately, they have changed the menu to only offer a few bland tapas dishes compared to the old menu that was huge and had some real gems. They also appear to have changed chef as each dish pretty much tasted the same and it no longer has any authentic flavour to the food. It's now an average Australian tapas experience whereas before it reminded me of a better meal in Spain. I won't be going back which is a real shame as I feel I have lost a friend...

    Response from Management:
    Dear Discerning Englishman,

I find your comment surprisingly misleading and contrary to your comment on the night when I went to your table upon being made aware of your dissatisfaction.

I approached your table and said "the waiter has advised me that you are not happy, was there a problem with the food" and you said "the food is good but its very Australianised and the menu is too condensed" and that you had travelled extensively through Spain from England and that you believed our food was no longer traditional or authentically Spanish. To which I answered glancing at the empty plates on your table that we believed our revised menu was now more authentically Spanish in flavours and ingredients than ever before and still with over forty selections to choose from provided ample variety and choice.

We were surprised also at the poor rating of 2 and your comment that the food was bland and all tasted the same! Interestingly I have a copy of your order sitting in front of me and I can tell at a glance that 7 of the 10 tapas you ordered were traditional tapas all with their individual ingredients and flavours and could not possibly taste the same as each other.

Overall we have received overwhelming positive comments and feedback to our revised Menu. (By the way we have the same chef for the last 20 years)

A great part of ourselves goes into our food and general development to provide the best we have to offer to our valued patrons. We are very sorry you have such unpleasant reservations about our establishment I really hate to disappoint any valued customer and more so an old friend.
