Had dinner here the other day with my partner and 2 friends. Service was decent. I think they are short of wait and kitchen staff but they managed well enough. We had the patatas bravas, chicken wings, black pudding, garlic prawns, chorizo and 2 plates of the paella. The tapas weren't great.
The chicken wings were burnt, the chorizo was dry, the black pudding was average, the garlic prawns were sizzling hot when they came but could have used more garlic and the patatas bravas were good. However, the paella was really good. We really enjoyed the paella as it was well-cooked with ample seafood. We'll come back for the paella.
The restaurant had a nice quaint feel of a family run restaurant to it which we liked.

Excellent food! Fresh hot and really yummy! Service is great and quick and the prices are more than reasonable. We have eaten here a few times and love it! Definitely worth a look, you won't be disappointed.

We had a fantastic evening, we have been here many times before but truly this place just gets better every time. We often go out in groups and often have poor value group menus. The group menu is incredibly good value and all the food is sooo tasty. Highly recommend for an intimate night or a big party.

Came here on a Sunday night and ordered the $25 3 course set menu and sangria. Initially was a bit disappointed when the tapas came out, as it's not in normal dish size for each tapas, but 3 different individual sized tapas on 1 plate for each of us. It was presented nicely and actually tasted very fresh. Then we each get a individual pan of paella with loads of seafood, this is the best paella I had in Sydney but none of us could finish!
By the time we got the churro we didn't really have much room, but the chocolate sauce is just how I like it which is not too sweet so I did finish half of the churros. Will come back here for sure!

Had cravings for paella and so found Raquel's had one of the best ratings in Sydney. It was nice paella but not as I remember from the street paella in Spain. But we were really impressed with the selection of tapas we ordered. The pork belly and the scollops with pork belly crumble were beautiful.

What can I say, absolutely love this place! There were 5 of us, and being a Sunday, we took advantage of the $25 3-course dinner. Ordered a jug of sangria (taste like normal sangria). The tapas was fresh, hot and delicious. I especially enjoyed their empanadillas. The serving were super generous, with loads of seafood in their paella.
I was so full that I couldn't finish the paella, or the churros that was for dessert, but the waitress was very kind and put them into boxes for me. The service at this place is fantastic, and you definitely get your money's worth!
I'll definitely be back for more, very interested in trying their Paella Negra (squid ink seafood paella!) Yum!

We've just come home from our first wedding anniversary, celebrated at Raquels, and we loved it. Monday night's $6 tapas and $15/L Sangria meant that the value was fantastic, though we chose to order one dish (the pork belly - wonderful!) from the non-special menu as well. We'd been planning to have dessert too, but after $40 worth of tapas (two people) we were just too full.
The service was really exceptional, and loved the decor. As for the food, we'll have to come back, because we're really keen to try the $25 deal as well.

Typical spanish food, fried food but not oily, everything we ate was tasty, well cooked and very good value. The paella was very good also. Generous Portions. Service was good and friendly also. Great for a casual or formal dinner. Highly recommend.

Dinner last night was the banquet for $45. We had a private room downstairs (which was nice as we had a big group). Lets start with the canapes. They were chorizo on small pieces of bread. Nothing special, I could've made them with ingredients from Wollies. The cheese and ham croquettes had very little ham but they were nice. The garlic bread was good but a little hard for my liking.
Then the tapas came out. The bbq prawns were over cooked and very hard to shell. The chicken was ok but it was set on a bed of fries that had gone soft from the oil on the chicken.
Flavours were avarage, if that. Lastly we had the paella, this dish won them some points because it was cooked well and had great flavour. Their churros with dipping chocolate was a nice way to end our meal but I'm not going back to sample their one good dish and a dessert.
The service was very good. They kept the wine flowing and they were very attentive. The way the seats were arranged made it very hard for them to reach over people to clear and set the table but they did their best.

I really was looking forward to eating at Raquels and I wasn't really impressed. The food was okay, I enjoyed it but it was nothing spectacular. The service was the same, and there was no atmosphere. I wouldn't eat at Raquels again. It just didn't have the wow factor I was looking for.
