We came here on the weekeend for lunch after the shopping at the markets. The food is great and so fresh, you have to come to this place and try the noodles, the only thing is that the service is so so, but this is because this place is packed. We don't mind waiting, it would have been different if the food was bad. The meal was reasonably priced too.
It used to be my favorite but not anymore. Foods are ok but service needs to be improved. I went there because I was hungry and wanna have something quick and go. The waitress took order from us but actually didn't place our order in the kitchen. We waited sooo long and nobody explained or checked until we asked! The waitress who took our order couldn't explain what's going on properly! I don't understand what's her job in such a busy lunch time.
Came here for an early dinner but the place got busy so quickly with people lining up on a tuesday night. The restaurant is pretty small but there is a variety on the menu that is around $10-20. Service is efficient and food is okay, nothing special but for the price you're paying its decent value and servings.
The button to press for the lift to this place always gives my friends and I a laugh because everyone usually presses the wrong one. The food is average, not that great but not that poor either, just a place to fill up fast if you want Japanese. Today I dined at Ramen Kan with a good friend and a male acquaintance. The waitress managed to spill the Karagge Cheese Curry on this particular acquaintance of mine and having paid quite a bit for those jeans, he did not enjoy his cheese curry at all.
I've been here a couple of times. One time we came 10 minutes before opening hours and they told us to wait outside standing in that tight space in front of the elevator. The interior design is different, I like it for it's cultural feel. Their miso soup always tends to be too salty that our throat quenches for thirst. I come back here for their yuki or yaki udon but each time I would have preferred it if more mayonnaise was given.
I also came here often for their La Creme Black Sesame ice cream until I discovered them at a supermarket located in market city for half price. Staff can't speak fluent english. I have yet been disappointed by their rice dishes. Prices are reasonable and on the cheaper side to most other japanese places.
Group of 4 of us went here to celebrate a birthday couple of months ago. It was a little confusing to find even though the birthday boy had been here before (a while ago). There's a little cramped lift that will take you up but there's no direct signage (in English?) to direct you to it.
Food is pretty good for Jap food, not the best but it passes for a good meal. Can't even remember all that we ordered but the entrees we shared were good, octopus balls with beneto shavings, fried tofu, prawn gyoza's, soft shell crab salad. I had the grilled salmon and rice which was decent. Definitely value for money here.
Service was okay, budget asian eateries are not known for service. It would help if the waitress spoke a little clearer english, but we got what we ordered correctly. Quiet a cosy little eatery it is, probably not ideal for large groups. Decor could do with a little maintenance but it was no drama. Boyfriend and I wanted to revisit but were disappointed to see they were closed that day.
Not that great anymore. Seriously. Whatever. Go to Menya Ramen. It's close. Forget about coming here. I had bad experiences and just average ones. If you want fantastic experiences MENYA for sure. This was previous post back in march.
The food, I don't know, it doesn't quite fit for "Japanese food", the menu and the food itself is very Japanese but as a child who has grown up around Japanese culture and Korean culture, this place is impressive. The only problem is each time I have been, the food has been too salty or too much msg, whatever it is, many of the reviews mention msg. You do know it's not a great thing right? My advice don't get soup type things, sure you go for ramen, but it's not best ramen.
Would be better. Give this place a try, I'm sure the other foods are great. You can't make bookings though. The waitress' aren't so great with English. First time I went (looked forward because it was my birthday) they wouldn't allow bookings so we did go a little early, but they wouldn't let us in, they were supposedly not open yet. You can't stay to chat with your friends because there are people waiting. That's what you get, first in gets first.
The second time was when I was in a rehearsal for a concert, had a short break. I found hair pieces in my food, they happily changed it, but it wasn't any better. I don't know, that's just my experience. I know it's being unlucky because these things do happen, give it a go and I hope you enjoy it, it all depends on your taste buds. Personally I love the traditional exquisite taste.
I came here last weekend for dinner with my colleague, the place was packed. Food taste okay, and I like the extra stuff that you can add on your ramen soup!! The place was noisy and a bit dirty though, table and seat are a bit sticky. Service can be a lot better too, I mean what's the point of it if you cannot handle the rush? I won't go back here again, but rather go to the one in Bondi Junction.
Great looking place, service can be better, however, it is affordable and a tasty alternative, would be great if the quality of food is always the same as it seems rushed when its busy.
