Finally, we’ve found what we've been looking for in a restaurant. Ramen Bar ticks all the boxes for us. This place is not just about the food.

I went there for lunch today. It's way better than I expect. I ordered a pork belly noodles served with tonkotsu miso base. The richest of the stock and heartly favour is still in my mouth after hours. For a price of $11 dollar is worth to go there and save you 18 hours of cooking process for the broth. I reckon they should put some pictures on the menu. The menu looks boring for me.

I've been here three times (which must indicate something!) and have had mixed experiences. The first time I thought I was in paradise, a ramen bar in a bookstore?! Bliss! The first time I had some Murakami ramen (incidentally my favourite author) and pork and fennel gyoza with some organic soft drinks (I think the brand is Phoenix). It was delicious and hot, quick service and excellent price.

The second time was much the same. Came in a group of four for dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. The decor is wonderful!

The third time I went for lunch with a uni friend and I was pretty disappointed. I had the Murakami again, but my 'hot spring egg' (poached egg) was cold, and I mean Stone Cold. The pork on top was also cold, and the pulled pork tasted so strongly of aniseed I nearly gagged. I was so sad because I really wanted my ramen fix! Once I pushed the egg and pork under the almost boiling broth, it improved their temperature and flavour, so it wasn't Too bad.

But I would expect a place like this to poach their eggs fresh, to order.
