It's very disappointing that the second experience here was so bad compared to our first. Had booked for my brother's birthday after an excellent experience just before Christmas. Quality of the seafood was horrible, it was obviously frozen and thawed rather than fresh and they had taken the lobster tails and balmain bugs off the menu which wasn't communicated when I booked. Also they are charging a higher price for a reduced menu and poorer quality.
We were seated right beside the bar in the "lounge" area even though I'd booked 3 weeks prior. The hot dishes weren't labelled and they ran out of desserts. Wouldn't step foot in this place ever again.
Have been here several times now for the friday night seafood buffet. It is always excellent, with great fresh seafood and lovely little snacky cakes for dessert as well. The staff are nice and polite, the view is great, and the atmosphere is good. Best of all it is great value.
From the below comments I would think the restaurant would be quite nice. We had an awful experience. This may have been because we weren't there on a Friday night for the seafood deal. But instead went on a Sunday night. The food was the worst I have ever tried. Asked for a medium steak, came out more than well done with potatoes that looked like they had been reheated from a week ago. The "open seafood lasagne" was terrible. Would never go back and wouldn't recommened it to anyone.
We had a fixed price menu, the overall value appeared reasonable, some point were good others bad. The crutons in the chicken ceasar salad entree could have broken your teeth. The mains were nice. Sweets, the sticky date pancake was undercooked, it tasted like slightly warmed dough and the ice cream was melted.
The service overall was poor, we had to continually ask for everthing, we asked for and got water, we the had to go up to staff on several occassions to get glasses. The staff appeared disinterested or untrained. According to a source all the normal staff were playing at a charity bingo event elsewhere in the hotel.
We enjoyed Mother's Day Lunch at this wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious! There was plenty on offer from fresh shucked oysters and seafood to delicious chicken and meat dishes. The dessert choices were endless and beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly and prompt with our drinks. I definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting to experience a relaxing meal with a wonderful view!
Excellent value and seafood buffet is great. The staff were courteous friendly and very efficient. Even our thirteen month old daughter had a great time and laughed all evening. I would happily return again and take my family and Japanese guests out for a treat. The live music sets the scene.
Take advantage of the shop-a-docket vouchers for even better value. Well recommended is the Friday night seafood buffet including bugs, prawns, oysters, mussels, smoked salmon, rudder cod, a variety of non-seafood dishes and some delicious desserts. The seafood is regularly replenished and plates of prawn shells promptly removed!
Friday night - Eat as Much as you like including seafood & you can also opt for the $15 wine deal - drink as much as you like for $15 - good selection of wine. Excellent service & ambience very smooth.
Surprisingly good food for a hotel restaurant and the views are superb. The Seafood Buffet - all you can eat has to be the best value seafood meal in Cronulla.
