In terms of location (inside the quay grand hotel), decor, fitting etc it was very average...
But the food was absolutely delicious. We went on a travelzoo voucher which entitled us to a starter, main and dessert each.
Starters-
* the quail was good (in particular the pie that came along with it)
* pork belly with apples 3 ways- tasty!
* scallops with black pudding were slightly small but also nice
Mains-
* the veal was a standout! beautiful veal tenderloins with gnocci and veal ragout. absolutely phenomenal!!
* the beef was good quality but was outshone by the veal.
* the duck & lamb were also both excellent
In general, all their sauced dishes were outstanding. The chef really does have a talent with his sauces.
Dessert-
* Lavender Creme Brulee with honey ice cream- winner!!!!
* Chocolate cake was excellent too and beautifully presented
* as was the pana cotta- slightly unorthodoxly presented in little squares but still equally delicious
All up the food itself was the only thing really worth going for... but if you're after some very delicious food, decent portions and beautfiul presentation then I'd recommend!

We dined here Last night Sat, had table 36 and the 3 course meal, tuna, rack lamb and Mexican chocolate was superb. Service was wonderful. We have booked four more times.

We went there last night for husband's birthday. We used the coupon from Travelzoo, hence, it was such a good value (3-course meal for 2 and you picked from the standard menu).
Our entrees were good. Loved the twice-cooked pork belly, it was crunchy. My scallops were plump too (although, only 3 pieces on the plate). Mains were a bit of a miss. Not as bad as we were expecting. My duck was good (although serving was small), my husband's tenderloin steak was Ok (not the most tender steak but it was passable. Need to find a better things to accompany the steak, though. I think should just stick with potatoes and good jus, instead of that jamon and black pulses/beans).
Dessert was Ok, good serving. The bread roll was tough and dry! It was like something that they put in the microwave to heat up. I notice that they kept the rolls warm in this kinda "bain-marie" style pot.
Service was patchy. The other reviewer mentioned about the "distance of the wine", we had the same issue and as if they were attentive enough to check whether our glasses were empty. My husband at the end asked to leave the wine bottle on our table.
The location of this restaurant is pretty good. Some tables may have pillars blocking the view. Menu was too small to read plus not enough lights.

Used a voucher for a 3 course meal for 2 and it was fantastic! From the moment we walked in everything was wonderful! Food, drink, view, seating and the waiter was everything a waiter should be! Well done Quadrant!

My partner and I dined at Quadrant last night and we were quite disappointed to say the least. Although the restaurant is located in a great area with lovely views of the harbour, there were many negatives, firstly, as we arrived to reception the waiter knew we were there but continued to talk to his colleagues. It was quite rude as I felt like I needed to wave my hand to get his attention.
Secondly, the food came out way too fast. Within 10 minutes of finishing our entree we had our main. Sure this is a good thing if u want a quick dining experience, but otherwise it felt as if they were rushing us to leave. Our booking was for 7pm and we were finished everything by 7.40pm!
Thirdly, they placed out wine bottle 5 meters away from us at another table. This wouldn't have bothered me if the waiters were attentive, but not once did the waiter recognize our glasses were empty. Instead, we had to call them over on 3 occasions to pour us some wine, which is unacceptable.
Lastly, our meals were pitifully small for what they're worth and my partners veal wasn't warm. I think because the restaurant is located within a hotel/suites they treat the service and meal as secondary in my opinion.
Overall, I'm quite disappointed with our dinner experience and I won't be going back.

Have eaten here many times over the years but more recently this restaurant has gone down hill even the bread rolls taste either old or thawed from a freezer. In the past this was a wonderful restaurant.

I recently attended a work dinner at Quadrant. The restaurant for a Thursday night was very quiet, there were only 3 tables of diners. That being said the food was beautiful and the service wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant, especially for a work dinner.

We dined at Quadrant on a very quite week night and there were only a 2 tables over the course of 1.5 hours of our meals. The service was good and the food was good value consider we were using a 3 course meal voucher.
There were a selection of a veg consommé with caramelised chorizo or Beetroot Cured Ocean Trout with Apple and Fennel Salad as Entree. The consommé tasted quite bland therefore the Apple and Fennel Salad would be a better choice.
The options for mains were either an Eye Fillet with Truffle Mash/Crumbed Lamb or Blue Eye Cod with Tortellini. The eye fillet was tender and the portion of the fish was larger than a normal serving at a fine dining restaurant. You can’t go wrong with either choice. They were seasoned properly and tasted good.
The night was ended with a Flourless Chocolate Cake with Coconut Sorbet and Fairy Floss, interesting and the presentation was good but we didn’t like the taste of the fairy floss and there is nothing exciting about the flourless chocolate cake, therefore, the star of the dish seems to be the refreshing coconut sorbet.
It was a worthwhile experience for us to try out the restaurant for the first time with the voucher, we consider the deal to be good value.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a business lunch at the Quadrant Restaurant in the Quay Grand Hotel, Circular Quay, Sydney. The food and service were both excellent. The wait staff were very attentive and greeted us immediately when we arrived. We were then led to a table by the floor to ceiling windows where the view of the Quay, Harbour Bridge and Sydney Harbour were spectacular.
After perusing the menu I was pleasantly surprised, although not cheap, the prices were reasonable considering the harbour view location and the standard of food. None of our party were drinking so we didn’t order any wine, however, I had a quick scan of the wine list and again was not put off by over escalated prices.
I ordered the lamb fillet on a bed of cannellini bean puree with zucchini pearls which was perfectly cooked and delicious! My colleagues ordered the steak and the pumpkin, pine nut and orzo risotto and both raved about their meal.
Overall, it was a great Sydney dining experience. The food, the location and the view were all outstanding. I will definitely go back and look forward to visiting for dinner and taking in the city lights.

Have been to this restaurant many times before but never again. Last night I ordered steak. It was without a doubt the worst meat (if you could call it that) that I have ever had. Inedible. 95% gristle. I had to leave most of it and didn't have time (pre-theatre meal) for another one. Their response was not to charge us for coffee. So basically I paid around $46 for a hunk of gristle (vegetables etc were extra and they were fine) which was not fit for human consumption. As for ambience: there was a function room on the same floor and most appalling noise from a band (actually just somebody yelling non-stop into a microphone) almost drowned out our conversation. Terrible food; bad response from staff; and the ambience of a cheap club. Never again.
