Thursday nights are great here. $4 spirits mean that everyone is usually relatively sloshed but live bands and a generally warm atmosphere make this place. The decor and bathrooms are pretty horrible, but you don't go there for the surroundings. It's a great place if you like rock or hardcore music.
Went to Sosueme on Friday night, it was good times, good music - awesome atmosphere and music. They don't allow samples of drinks nor do they have a big range of beers, but what they do have is pretty stock standard. Awesome crowd again... awesome music... Loved it, and will head there again.
I arrived at 6am on Saturday night. They have fantastic music, friendly mixed crowd. Drinks were pricey but the music made up for it. You can chill out or go crazy. The only thing is the sunlight that hits you on the way out.
If you'r the type of person that loves to dance and love your music, then you will appreciate the music here. I hate the look of the place but hey just cause it does not have chandeliers, does not make it a bad place. I have been to many classy places in Sydney and never had that the experiance of not being accepted in a club. The types of people who come here are all sorts of from very classy ladies and gents to very average people but isn't that the same everywhere else. I think that most people that do go to Q know what good tunes are all about at least they still appreciate it even if it is an ugly place.
This is a pretty full on clubbers club. Open till around 7am weekends, you can imagine the type of patrons (they don't drink much, if you know what I mean). Its pretty popular which reflects in the door policy (guys without girls in their group will have a tough time getting in). The atmosphere is "underground club" - dark, casual and loud. Some of the bouncers can be quite scary. Still, for what it is this place is pretty good, if that's your scene...
Sydney is a fantastic city with a lot of very nice people. Sadly this venue had door staff that took my breath away, they were rude and insulting. being refused admission due to wearing thongs, i respected there decision and waited quietly for my friend to exit. during my wait, when others were admitted wearing thongs. i was told i was ugly and continually intimidated by jibes, whilst standing quite quietly and patiently. it is such a shame that these bouncers feel it necessary to be so rude to feel powerfull. funny really in that i respected there decision for my footwear. i wont be returning, nor i guess will the other people, who i observed being equally abused, one sober couple were told 'look at the state of your girlfriend, get her some food' nice. thank goodness there are so many other places to go. i actually cant believe i am writing this review, but as a pretty balanced individual i was utterly appauled at the door test. hope you choose somewhere better.cheers!
I don't rate this place at all. Poser bar. The music is commercial. See how they got the name Queue Bar - you can see the queue outside. If you like waiting in a huge queue for commercial music and pool hall decor, this is the place for you. Sad.
