I went to this restaurant last night with my sister. We went and had the pre theatre menu which meant we had to be out before our show started. The ambience of the restaurant was really nice, our calamari for entree was divine so much that we were too full for anything else. For mains I had the chicken while my sister had the salmon fillet which was nice but we were quite full.
The table next to us had to be out by 10 to 7 and as soon as it was 10 to 7 they were out. We didn't wait long for our food. The only problem was that one of the waiters was a bit rude at the start and the value was quite expensive but was worth it.
Firstly, I have to say I was a little concerned when I read the Reviews for this restaurant posted by various people. I was planning a 50th Birthday surprise and worried about the location, the food and service that would be available and I have to say it was not easy arranging it within a weeks notice.
Keeping this in mind I was very happy that on arrival we were seated immediately by the friendly staff who showed us to our table for ten. We were given our set menu and were served quite promptly by our waiter whom I have to say was very good. He knew who had placed and whom had to receive their orders and made the night very memorable.
The food was divine and the portions were more than adequate as well. And this was echoed throughout the group and were very happy with the choice. They said that they would recommend this restaurant to anyone I would do the same. I had also ordered an ice-cream birthday cake which they had beautifully engraved and it ended the 50th Birthday celebration on a high note.
I had my reservations from what I have read but from my person experience, I found that the restaurant surpassed my expectations. It was was an enjoyable and memorable night. I certainly will be going back and was value for money too. A thank you to the staff and management for everything.
The staff are completely unwelcoming and unfriendly. We were told that the restaurant was full when it was half empty. We returned 40 minutes later and were given a table, one of the same tables that was empty 40 minutes prior. The attitude of the staff is terrible, they will not look at you or acknowledge your requests, plain rude.
After being seated, 10 minutes later a waiter arrived to take our order, we had no wine list and had to ask for one, when he returned he dumped the wine list in the middle of the table and walked away again. When he returned he stood and waited for us to place our order and did not acknowledge us at all. The food was great, but the service was terrible, I would not return if you were looking for a friendly or hospitable atmosphere.
I had friends come from interstate, we all decided to eat at this restaurant. It was the worst decision we have made in some time. Below is the reasons for this dismal review...
There 4 people all up, upon entering we were told that they were almost full, while we gazed the restaurant 50% of the seats were empty, this remained the same for the 2.5 hours we were there...
Service was appalling but no more than the food... We went for 20mins without any drinks.
We finally decided to order our dinner, upon requesting 2 x Seafood platters for 2 we were informed they were sold out... We then requested the Deluxe Seafood Platters and again were informed they had sold out. By this stage we were not happy, I requested the lobster and wouldn't you know it, Sold out! (Sydney Fish Markets 1 min away!)
We ordered Steak, I ordered the T-Bone, Medium with Red Wine Sauce, my friend ordered T-Bone, MediumRare with Pepper sauce..... When our meals finally arrived, they had mixed our meals up, and put the sauces on the wrong steaks.
We sent the meals back, received new meals 30 mins later. By then our partners had finished as we started.
Absolutely appaling restaurant, We will never go back, or recommend it to anyone.
The best thing about this place was probably the table space. Mixed comments from the table regarding the food. The waitress also impressed us by carrying about 20 wine glass in her hands.
Went on a Saturday for lunch, table of 4, food was good value for money, they were able to accommodate our request of a Deluxe Seafood Platter and 1/2 seafood platter. Seafood was fresh and tasty, steak was cooked as ordered. Only down side, requested a window view, Maitre d', did not listen to our request and was more interested in pushing us to any table, finally a waiter stepped in and offered us a nice table on the outdoor terrace. Nice atmosphere and reasonable staff.
Went before Miss Saigon. Very disappointing. Had seafood platter. Very ordinary. The calamari was dry the squid was dryer. In fact there was no flavour at all in the calamari and squid. The fish was average. The prawns were soft. I asked if there was salad included and the waiter confirmed there was. The salad was three pieces of watermelon and some dry lettuce. The wine list was good but overpriced. Will not be returning!!!!!!
After reading the reviews here I was a bit apprehensive when we were invited to dinner there. We had a table of 11. We were told that we need to be out by 8 pm for the second sitting, and the wait staff constantly remind/nag you about this fact. We were told to order before all our friends arrived and was promptly given the bill just before 8 pm. The food was not the greatest, just barely average. The salmon was under nourished, overcooked and lacked taste, the sauce was minimal.
My wife had the lamb which was surprisingly good, the only reason they're getting a 4 for food. Don't bother getting the fruit juice, it's straight out of a No Frills label. The ambience of the place was lost when the staff rushed us to eat and shown the door. Service was prompt, quick and uncaring. Definitely overpriced for the lack of food, quality, taste and atmosphere.
Went there on Saturday night with another couple, service is absolutely dismal. We had the seafood platter which was quite pathetic, the octopus and calamari was left behind, calamari was more like straw. Two of us were still eating when the shabby waiter decided to put the bill on the table, once finished, the waiter came back and moved the bill in front of us, didn't ask if we wanted dessert or coffee. Blatantly rude. We paid and when we got the change, we only left a 20 cent tip. Was way overpriced and you get no service.
