User trust and transparency are very important to us. The content you contribute may be monitored by Eatability moderators who have the ability to remove illegal and inappropriate content and even ban habitual violators from posting comments on Eatability completely.
If you wish to contribute to Eatability and be part of its community, you must observe the following Do's and Don'ts.
Do
-
Make sure your contribution is relevant to other Eatability users and is appropriate to the forum. Ideally, it should also be enjoyable and genuinely informative.
-
Write from personal experience, without resorting to speculation or exaggeration.
-
Strive for accuracy and factual correctness without misrepresenting your experience. Include specific details that can be verified if possible.
-
Be unbiased, honest and objective. Reviews and opinions expressed must not be offered for the purpose of financial gain or other incentive. No plugs for your own business or criticism of competitors.
-
Be creative, but keep it clean and free of smut and innuendo.
-
Understand that by posting on Eatability, you grant us a licence to use your content in accordance with the
Eatability Terms of Use
.
-
Keep reviews within an appropriate length. Although character limitations do not apply, an appropriate upper limit is around 500 words.
-
Keep content/reviews in English.
-
Keep your email address up to date.
Don't
-
Post inappropriate content which includes, but is not necessarily limited to, swearing, vulgarity, threats, bigotry, hate speech, threats of violence or other material that could be considered offensive in nature.
-
Reveal personal information - yours or that of others - such as names, addresses or contact details.
-
Post photographs or videos of any person without their consent.
-
Plagiarise or infringe the intellectual property rights of other parties, including by posting photos, sound files or text that is copied from third parties without their permission.
-
Include external links to unrelated or offensive material.
-
Include promotional content, advertising, surveys, contests or material placed specifically for commercial gain.
-
Plagiarise or use content from other sites or users.
-
Include references to illegal activity.
-
Accept monetary or non-monetary reward or any other form of compensation for submitting a review, unless you expressly and fully disclose the form of reward or compensation within the review.
-
Create multiple user names or e-mail addresses.
-
'Shout' by excessively using CAPS or strong emphasis on particular words. Spelling and grammatical errors may be corrected or removed.
-
Use other disruptive behaviour such as posting multiple identical or near-identical messages or intentionally hard-to-read posts.
-
Include single word or single sentence reviews. Reviews of this nature are rarely published.
-
Attempt to impersonate other users by using a bogus account name with the intent of mocking, misrepresenting or antagonising others.
Bottom line, you cannot submit content that is reasonably likely to offend a person looking for information from that item, article or review. We only welcome genuine, open and honest commentary that is communicated in a respectful manner.
