This place looks cheap and basic which it is, but I will always go back as the food is fantastic! Yes they herd you in and out like cattle, but when you get there you want a table don't you?
This place is always packed (which is a good sign) of locals, with those in a rush eating downstairs, with the rest who want to sit down (BYO) to eat upstairs.
I love the duck curry and the bananna flower salad. Both a must try! (watch out for the Jungle curry - it's hot!)
This place has the Best Thai food ever!! The decor is bad and the service is pretty lacking but the food more than makes up for it. Best to do take away here as if you sit downstairs you will have a number of people crowded around you waiting for their take away looking at you and your food! Yes it is that good. You can eat upstairs but book in as it is always full. I can't say enough about how much I love the food here! You have to try the Chicken salad, I have not found this in any other Thai place! YUM!! Might get take away tonight!
I don't care that the venue has a cheap and nasty take-away feel about it. It has some of the best Thai food you can find in Sydney. The service downstairs is pretty non-existent, but who cares the food is too good and you don't get service in a take-away joint anyway. So people need to get over it!!
The only bad thing about this place is that they usher you out as soon as you've finished eating because they don't take reservations and there's always people waiting. I also had to ask for a jug of water a few times before it arrived.
We got there early in the night so got a table immediately - we had the prawns coated in coconut, samosas and chicken skewers for entree, all very nice. We ordered some different mains to share but the best of the bunch has to be the heaven beef - if you go there, you must taste it.
Stopped going after my spring roll turned out to be a string roll. Ie, a 5cm piece of packing string that found its way into the spring roll. Staff were less than helpful although they did admit to recognising the style of string. I left details for owner to get in touch with me to discuss but have not heard back some 2 months later. Questionable food prep.
One of my favourite Thai places in Sydney. I've been going there for years! Sure, a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for and it's consistently great food.
I've been here twice now and I'll keep coming! Four of us ate 3 courses and were a touch full at $85 all up. Great value for the amazing food! I was really happy with the service this time round, lovely guy was very attentive upstairs! Entree: Fried Tofu and spring rolls - cheap and yummy. Mains: My parents were so impressed especially with the constant special of morten bay bugs (that's why I took them, they love good seafood). We also had a yellow vegie curry and the banana leaf chicken salad! Delicious! Dessert: black rice - plastic takeaway containers, my dad has been trying to make it this good for years! Yummy 100%
