Food is okay, had the fish and chips and tasted fine. Staff are pretty friendly, drinks are bit pricey but we always have a good time more suited to the older crowd but good for a laugh. Security are fine never had a prob there compared to other pubs in Parra, doesn't really have a strict dress code.
Came for a work lunch and a few beers. Had the rib eye cutlet with bernaise sauce. Beautiful piece of meat however the bernaise sauce was overpowering, too heavy handed with the vinegar. Not cheap though, $36 for a steak in a pub is over the top
Decent enough pub grub. Not somewhere to take someone if you are looking to impress them though. Bizarre structure of having to get to wait on for food but have to go to bar for drinks, confusing and a bit odd basically.

Went to PJ Gallagher ( two Saturdays back ) for lunch with a friend and this will be the first and last time I'll ever venture to this place again. There were about 11 tables, all served by one waiter and if you want a drink, you've have to go to the bar and pay on the spot!!!
Expensive and very average on the selection available. After the waiter had taken your order, you'll not see the waiter again. We ordered two dishes of steak and the serving were absolutely appalling for the price charged. There wasn't much to eat ( rather tasteless and overcooked my Steak Diane ) and as you don't see the waiter again, you'll have no hope of getting any coffee / dessert.
The bill is the best part of it - you'll have to go to the bar and tell the sommelier what you've eaten to get the bill! Forget this place unless you've got money to throw around.
The service was disgraceful. We went there for Sunday lunch and it wasn't too busy, yet we still ended up waiting almost an hour for our food and it wasn't good value when it finally arrived. I paid $15 for 2 spring rolls, cut in half and arranged on a plate. The $3 spring rolls from my local chinese place taste better. I have been there only one other time, on a Friday night before things got busy. The service was still just as poor, and the food was definitely over priced and not worth it. I won't be going back!
The best time to go to PJ's for a meal is around lunch time before it gets too busy. This place serves good quality pub grub. Chunky steak and guiness pies, fish and chips, wood fire pizzas, good quality and great value steaks etc. etc. I take the wife and my parents there for Saturday or Sunday lunch and it consistently serves up tasty, hearty tucker. Good uncomplicated food, very good value. Pleasant environment, friendly waiting staff. Pints of cold cider on tap is a little added bonus!
Disappointed with the meal, it took 2 hours from ordering until receiving our food. I understand it was a busy Saturday night...but two hours? After my pizza was sent to the wrong table, I finally received it, not hot, but warm.
The garlic bread never arrived. The place is packed out with sleezy drunks, so I would eat elsewhere and go to PJ's afterwards...if your idea of a good night out is waiting for ages to be served at the bar. The one saving grace was the waitress, she was very friendly and I took pity on her.
Service at both the bar and restaurant was absolutely fantastic. Drinks were, fair enough, a bit costly but the beer is served in pints and its reasonable that it costs more, pints are larger than schooners people!!! The food in the restaurant was Great. A large selection, catering to vegetarians and the chefs are happy to accommodate allergies and staff have a great knowledge of the menu items and can offer alternatives.
Security are friendly and helpful, not overpowering and intimidating as there can been seen at other places. The management team are constantly around helping their staff and it is a great place to have a few drinks, a nice easy going business lunch and great to take the family to. I have never met a more friendly staff in the the hospitality industry, especially when it hits the wee hours of the morning, they are still smiling and joking with the customers. Great job all round.
I went here last night for the first time and I left after 40mins - an hour, the drink was expensive and the music wasn't the best as was the crowd it was packed and you could barely move. The bouncers were a bit cocky too before we entered. It was more a 30yo+ crowd inside and a few teenie bopper posers fresh out of high school and for a so called Irish pub I didn't see or hear one Irish person inside. I won't be back.
Food is average here, the venue itself is quite nice but it does have a bad reputation for fights. Still that doesn't stop me from going now and again.
