The most awesomest pizza crust in Sydney, it's like theres a little indian old lady out the back making naan and some italian lady applying the topping and serving it as pizza, service a little slow as it's like the busiest pizza place in Sydney it takes some time to get a table but well worth the wait. Once the elevated pizza is placed on your table and you take a bite you realise why people line up for this stuff. Any pizza lovers out there definitely need to give this place a go, worth going back to.
Really great pizza, just like my nonna makes. I come here often and will continue going. The only thing I could possibly say that is negative is that you cannot book, which means if you can't get there early, you might have to wait, and that once my LLB, was probably a little too bitter. Other than that, thumbs up.
We dined here on a busy Sat night. We were seated quickly and we had no issues with the service, the waitstaff were friendly and efficient. We started with a selection of entrees, arancini balls, antipasto plate and the field mushroom special were delicious. We had 6 different pizzas and they were all excellent, the base was thin and crisp so you could really taste the toppings. I would rate these as one of the best in Sydney. Recommended to come if you want a buzzy place with great pizza, but it's a bit hectic for a romantic dinner! Highly recommended.
Went there for Sunday lunch with a group of friends. Pizza was nice, although nothing special. Having read some of these reviews I was expecting bad service, but it was good enough, then again the place was pretty quiet. It was a nice setting for a Sunday afternoon lunch but I wouldn't rush back.
I have been there for dinner 2 times, once on a weekday, and once on a Saturday. Always packed! The pizza is delicious, crunchy as I like it, the topping is fresh, and the ingredients authentically Italian. We had also some calamari to share, big serving and good food. The torta al cioccolato has been a good way to end the dinner!
The service is terrific, the waitstaff is friendly and very quick, something quite rare in Sydney's restaurants. The place is really clean. There is just one thing I have to say something about, the knives! Assuming that the pizza dough was perfect, not too hard, not too soft, we found a bit difficult to cut my pizza! We noticed that the people at the table next to us were having the same problem. Definitely recommended for a good pizza!
I used to visit this place just about weekly. Went back last night for the first time in 9 months and had a shocking experience. The staff were extremely rude, not hasty and quick like they usually are but down right rude. Drinks were ordered, we had to wait 10 minutes and when they came the waiter said "Heres your F..cking Heneikens".
We had a large group of eleven and we received the call that our table was ready, so my friend and I walked down from the Clock Hotel and were there within 2 minutes, the rest of our party were finishing off their drinks at the Clock and arrived within 5 minutes. My mate and I who got their first were pretty much harrassed saying where are the rest of your table, we explained, however, she kept on ranting and stormed off.
The food is good, though its not good enough to have to put up with all of the above.
Pizza was pretty good but service was a disgrace. After asking a staff member for our drinks several times, waiter said 'here is your f***ing heikens". This will be our last visit to this restaurant.
This is Sydney's best pizza crust. Thin, but you can fold it over without it breaking. And, unlike many of the other well touted pizza restaurants, never too moist, undercooked or sloppy. This is the perfect crust. We come here about three times a month and the quality never falters.
It is interesting to read the complaints about service. This place is deservedly busy and that means they will not seat a large group unless the entire group is there. Fair enough. The food comes out at a good pace and they can easily serve a few more guests while others are waitng for their friends and holding up a table. We have always found the service to be brisk but honestly, not rude.
Try the four cheese, spinach and ricotta or funghi if available. So good! The house beer is an excellent pale ale and there is a reasonaly priced list of wine by the glass.
Best pizzas in Sydney but really terrible service, most of the waitresses are extremely snooty, when pouring our wine our waitress started walking away while still pouring wine into a glass. Great pizza but bad service, go early or you'll be standing on your chair and waving arms in the air to get the attention of someone to serve you or bring the bill.
