Pizza Mario has become my fave pizza place! Athough they only have a few types of pizzas, all their pizzas are delicious and well made. The pizza size is very generous and the yummy thin dough base is the best I've ever had. My only complaint is the waiters aren't very friendly and there is always a queue after 8pm-ish so get in early.

The best pizza and the best Calamari I think I have ever tasted! It is so good that it gives you cravings in the middle of the night that linger and grow stronger until you eventully give in and find yourself waiting for a table! Yes, the staff are rude but who cares! The food here is worth the attitude and the tables are worth the wait. As soon as you begin eating the pizza, you forget about the rude phone call you received to tell you that your table is ready. I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened and will continue to support it for as long as it the ovens are fired! The gelato is also a must! Highly recommended.

I can't work out whether it was the fact that 10 of us who were either family or might as well be were squished on one table that the weather outside was so miserable, the copious amounts of wine, friendly service or just the delicious authentic food that made my dinner on Sunday evening at Pizza Mario so enjoyable. We started off with the calamari with fresh squeezed lemon and the tuna and cannelliini bean salad. It was good but not something I would ordinarily order in a restaurant. We ended up ordering 5 pizzas and 2 salads - after sharing 6 entrees between 10 of us. My choice was the mare'terra which I stick by - the saltiness of the anchovies was contrasted by the light pizza base and simple toppings that you don't find in Sydney anymore. All up came to a very reasonable $360 for 10 of us (including no less than 5 bottles of wine...). Last year I came here on my Birthday with a small group of friends and wsa not let down. A wonderful meal and I will be back again to enjoy!

Two words.... Margherita Extra! Just thinking of that delicious buffalo mozzarella is making my mouth water! Simple but delicious pizzas, yummy gelato (try the hazelnut!). Ok the waiters can be rude and pretentious but with a pizza this good, you learn to focus your attention on the delicious pizza that awaits!

There is no doubt in my mind that this place serves the best pizza in Sydney!

Full stop. No ifs or buts. Margherita Extra is divine (thanks to buffalo mozarella). The next best thing is Pompeii in Bondi Beach and Pizza e Birra on Crown Street (different atmosphere of course). Enjoy!

I love Pizza Marios. I've been coming here for ages now and makes me realise (after reading some of the the other reviews) that you get used to waiting for a table here and after a while, you either know it's worth the wait or make plans to come when it's quiet - monday night or at 6pm! Pity the place isn't bigger or warmer in winter but regardless this place has the best pizza in town!! Great prices and lovely inexpensive Italian wines by the glass, always a pleasure and that lovely, young Italian waiter who runs the floor is a true professional. Will be back soon!

What can I say! The only place in Sydney that serves real pizza. Combine that with fast, efficient and friendly service in a buzzy little courtyard, you won't be disappointed if you have to wait for a table.

Average food, rude pretentious service and crammed space. Had to wait around an hour for a table but no phone calls whilst waiting at the pub. If you are one of those Sydney people that has to be seen and heard then go there. I won't be returning.

If you like thin crust pizzas this place is the best. The salads, calamari and gelato is also good and their Italian wines are lovely and well priced. Sometimes the service is attentive and helpful (but they always act like they're in a hurry), yet other times is brash and rude. Get there early and you're sure to get a table and good service.

Hard to beat for authentic Italian style pizzas with beautiful imported ingredients (the buffalo mozzarella is to die for), authentic Italian beer and wine, and even authentic Italian staff (rare)! The staff were efficient and friendly in an aloof sort of way. I suspect some people would find them a bit arrogant but we had no problems. Treat yourself to a Peroni Grand Riserva beer while you're there too!

Highly recommended. Don't go if you're in a hurry though - they don't take phone bookings. You might get lucky or you might have to wait an hour. Sunday nights are a good option.
