I always come for the noodles so I don't try to make the bad stuff bother me as much, but sometimes you wonder, do they know what customer service is? I always walk into this restaurant not being greeted a 'Hello' or anything, I usually always get the menu myself, it takes them a long time to take my order so I always go up to the counter to place my order.
The food comes out quite fast might I add, maybe because they don't sell much.
I love their noodles and baso goreng but occasionally, I can really taste the pig fat in the noodles & the pig fat in the baso goreng. No surprise there!
If you don't like the taste of the pig fat you can always ask them not to put it in.
All in all, I do like their noodles but needs improvement on their service.
Great chicken noodle, very nice baso goreng (fried meat ball), yummy mie tek-tek (fried noodle). Fast and friendly service. I went back the next time with a friend but they were closed :( (They are closed on Mon, Tue & Thurs - why so many days in a week?? **puzzled**). Will definitely go again.
One of the best Indonesian restaurant in Sydney. Always come back for noodles and "soto betawi". The fried meat balls are very nice. Unfortunately, only open on weekends and Wed.
I really enjoyed the Bakso Goreng (Fried Meat Ball) with the lots of chilli sauce. I generally enjoy the Bakmi Ayam (Chicken & Mushroom with chewy egg noodles) but more recently, I have started to take a liking to Bihun Ayam (vermielli noodles). Fairly good value for money.
Every time I always go there everytime I crave for noodles and always go for their bakmi ayam and some meat balls (great dipped in chilli). I tried their pempek, it's not as nice though.
Went there with my mate, first time eating Indonesian food and it was fabulous! The service was great, quick and friendly. The food was delicious and it wasn't expensive! Value for money. Would I come back? Definitely!
Two things I usually order when I visit the shop. Bakmi ayam tastes great by overseas standard and Baso goreng is good with the chilli sauce that makes your mouth waters.
Friendly service, cheap and nice food, can be very busy on Sunday afternoon and they only open 4 days per week! It's one of the nicer Indonesian food around Kingsford and also one of the cheapest! I like the Bakmi Karet but last time I went there, the Bakmi Karet didn's taste so good and we haven't been there since.
I don't agree with others who said that their nasi goreng and gado-gado are good. Other place does it better. But their Mie Tek-tek is very good and their pempek is small but good value (only $6), and the Best Bakso Goreng ever, too bad the price went up from $1 to $1.50 now. But then again I can get full with only $16 for 2 people!
Food is quite nice here. Had bimbu bali and the spices on the chicken were very tasty. The bowl of pempek was quite small which may disappoint the famished. But hey, food is cheap enough for you to order another bowl to cover yourself. Value here is just like most Indonesian places ie cheap cheap.
