Taken there by an indonesian friend we knew we were onto a winner as the place was full.

Food: we ordered noodle chicken and Pork dishes and the taste was great, they gave us complimentary Prawn Crackers and Sweat Jam, the Pork Ball was excellent as well.

Small floor space and tables are close to each other. The service was quick and efficient and when 1 of the kids jammed their foot in the chair they showed concern and brought bandages.

Value: unbelievable 1990s prices, mains at $8.50, we paid $73 for 9 people!

Must try the bakso goreng/ fried ball... its the best in pinangsia noodle!. the rest of the food is average for me (an indonesian), prefer other indonesian restaurant that serve more authentic dishes. The service is good and I always go back for the bakso goreng.

Their speciality is the mushroom chicken noodle and fried meatballs. Yum! Very good value for money but don't expect top service. But we don't mind. Lately though, the noodle somehow tastes not as good. We heard that the business has changed owner. We certainly hope not. We'll see the next time we feel like noodle again.

Been here a couple of times and had no idea what to order, but everything I've tried has been delicious. Everything is about $7 or $8 and you serve yourself drinks and condiments. Food comes out ridiculously fast. Try the fried meatballs!

My favourite Indonesian restaurant in eastern suburbs. The foods were constantly delicious and were served in generous amount (Please note many Indonesian restaurants are not typically generous in terms of serving amount). The "Lontong Sayur" and "Bakmi" were great. If you want to taste the best freshly-cooked large Indonesian meatball, Pinangsia is the only place to go. The only thing that can be improved is the interior.

Just okay, there's so much competition along this strip, we didn't love it enough to ever go back.

Its hawker style so don't expect great service, self service for water and tea, the management has changed but luckily they kept the same kitchen staff, they are also now open 6 days a week. Terribly busy at times so before 6 pm. Have to grab some indonesian friends as I am still not used to the non english menu, there's some photos, so just point to them is good enough, the wait staff are good with english so they can help.

The martabak is my favourite, (kind of a pancake with a hazelnutty spread inside), there is also some fish cake like dish, sorry can't remember the name. But come here for the noodles, their chicken soup soto ayam is my staple, so simple and so cheap.

Great noodle shop, very nice baso goreng (fried meat ball), yummy mie tek-tek (fried noodle). One of good cheap eats. Fast and friendly service.

Update - Sun 26 Apr 09: Chicken noodle was different. Different type of noodle used. The dish was much oilier and it didn’t taste as good as before. Mie tek-tek was saucy and moist - not as smoky and tasty as before. Perhaps the business was sold or new chef/cook? Not sure..May not come back again...

I used to love coming here cos their noodle reminds me of one of my fave stalls back in Jakarta. But, ever since the beginning of this year, somehow, their noodle didn't taste the same as before. The noodle type changed, and so does the flavour. I don't know if this is just a one-day occurrence (maybe the chef still hasn't returned from hols, as they just reopened from Xmas break that time), or is it a permanent change. Whatever it is, I am very apprehensive to try again as it's really a major disappointment!

I always come for the noodles so I don't try to make the bad stuff bother me as much, but sometimes you wonder, do they know what customer service is? I always walk into this restaurant not being greeted a 'Hello' or anything, I usually always get the menu myself, it takes them a long time to take my order so I always go up to the counter to place my order.

The food comes out quite fast might I add, maybe because they don't sell much.
I love their noodles and baso goreng but occasionally, I can really taste the pig fat in the noodles & the pig fat in the baso goreng. No surprise there!

If you don't like the taste of the pig fat you can always ask them not to put it in.
All in all, I do like their noodles but needs improvement on their service.
