Expect fast friendly service by the staff at Phoenix Gardens, with generous serving sizes and reasonable prices. There is a wide choice on the menu, from the addicting Salt and Pepper Prawns to the traditional Sweet and Sour Pork, and more unusual but delicious items such as Ugly Fish. We've even asked for Chinese dishes not on the menu, and they've happily made them for us. They are next door to the Allawah Hotel, so you can pop next door to the bottle shop on your way in. This is a place that you'll keep going back to, and if you get take-away, they give a discount.

Great authentic Chinese food and good value for money. We drove by late one night after work, most places don't open Monday nights so we were surprised to see this restaurant opened. We wanted to get take away but the friendly waiter convinced us to dine in and said it was no problem at all, so we did.

We highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken wings and ugly fish! I'm not usually a big fan of fish due to too many bones but this style is one of a kind-you won't be disappointed. We highly recommend this place, we've already been back a few times since!

Good Food and very recommended! My husband and I went there for dinner, heard from friends that this restaurant just recently opened and family owned. For the entree, we were recommended by the owner to try the prawn toast. First I thought my husband wouldn't like it as he is not a big fan of prawn, but guess what, he enjoys it a lot. The prawn toast is so yummy (very crunchy), and the prawn is not too overpowering.

For main, we ordered special fried rice, rusty nails and sizzling mongolian beef. When the food came out, we were so surprise. The portion is really big, a lot of meat. And the price is really cheap. We love the rusty nails a lot. It's deep fried shredded beef with special bbq sauce (I guess). It's very crunchy (you won't stop eating it). And the mongolian beef, the beef is so tender and the sauce is not to overpowering.

As for dessert, we had "Deep Fried Ice Cream". OMG, it's really good. It's not the same as you normally would have from other chinese restaurant. They put some secret spices that makes it so tasty and different, you would be able to tell by the time you have it :) My hubby loves it heaps! We will be coming back soon to try their ugly fish! All other tables seem to order this dish when we were there, so we gotta try their specialty next!

Dropped in for dinner last Friday and thought the food was excellent. The waiters are very attentive. The owners are doing a great job establishing a great local chinese restaurant with fresh food that is excellent value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Went in for late dinner on the way home with my girl friend last week. Heard from the locals only opened recently and thought I'll give it a go. The food was a bargain, for the food they dished up. It was excellent. We had an entree for 2, 2 mains and a fried rice for $40 and still have coins to spare. The staff was very friendly and very considerate. Asked us for any feed back if we didn't like anything or had any problems. Definitely worth going back there again.
