What a difference to the other eating houses at Faifield RSL. Had yum cha here the other Saturday and were very disappointed. Service was ordinary as we had to keep asking for the waitress to bring the trolley around (of which there were only 2). Soft drinks that were served were very small glasses filled with way too much ice and hardly any soft drink. We asked for a side serving of fresh chilli with soy sauce which we never got.

The scallop dumpling was the only thing that was good, we couldn't eat the pork as it tasted funny and full of bones and the siu mai was overcooked and tasted only of pork.

Lastly we had spring rolls and when the waitress brought them out she stood there talking to another waitress holding the plate of spring rolls only 10-15cm from her face for about 5 minutes, well we didn't really feel like eating after watching that.

Ambience would have been ok but the lights kept going out and we were left in darkness to eat, top it of over $40 for 6 very average dishes. Never again!

Decor is fantastic, absolutely love it! Food is average, I had the beef pho and it was disappointing for such a great looking place! The pho was plain, I needed a lot of sauce to add flavour, staff is quite slow and speak minimal English. Price was ok, although entrees are pricey!

Free soft drinks, tea, Asian style drinks. We had 3 chicken pho and 2 serves of spring rolls 8 pieces plenty for three people. Bill came to just under $50 for three of us. Fantastic value and venue.

Went here for the first time last night and were pleasantly surprised, have heard conflicting comments about this restaurant. We started with pork and prawn rolls which were so beautifully fresh and more-ish with a nutty hoisin sauce. Then chicken pho which again was bursting with freshness. The service here was excellent, very attentive and went out of their way to please. Only downfall is .. the price. Three of us went here and it cost $130 for 2 entree pork & prawn rolls, 3 pho and one bottle of wine. And we didn't choose a pricey bottle of wine either. I think we will come back though, it was a really nice meal.

Only ate here once with friend for a nibble, had pork buns which I quite liked but we were very confused as to how to order and how you charged at the end, as for the decor, I love it, I got the impression the staff didn't speak much or any english as we ask for help with food descriptions and no one could speak to us. I do want to go back another time to try something else, but I have no idea how to order or what I'm ordering. My friend was not impressed and won't return.

Went there for some dinner. Place is nice. Order pho and not worth going again, the taste was so plain for a viet pho. Service wasn't great. The waiter didn't understand English so was pretty hard communicating with the waiter. All I can say never going back.

Ate here some time last year, and ordered the signature dish, Raw Beef Pho. Was very plain. Not authentic Vietnamese pho! Bit pricey for the bowl of pho when you can drive 10 minutes to Cabramatta and get awesome pho for less than $10.
Hopefully they change their chefs and get some real home made Vietnamese cuisine.

Had the chicken pho, it was plain to me. The yum cha was nice, the pork ribs didn't have much bones to it which was great but at the same time it was expensive, or is this the normal price of yum cha nowadays? Hard to say.

Service is quick and the food comes quick too, and despite it being in a rsl the decor is quite nice. Is it me or is rsl/workers club food not the bargain I expect.

Having never been to the Fairfield RSL before, we were pleasantly surprised by the very unclublike decor and friendly attentive service we received. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food (we had yum cha) is fresh, hot and very tasty. It would have been nice to have a pot of green tea offered when seated but that is only a small oversight.

The menu card was easy to read (in English) and if we wanted to try something that wasn't on the trolley at the time, they went straight away to get it for us.
Today was only the first time we have been there but we will be back.
