I haven't been to Pho Tau Bay since I was a kid and today was my first revisit. It looks a bit different from what I remember, with the black sleek interior theme going on and they don't have that giant ship on their counter no more which was kinda like their mascott as shop name could be interpreted as 'fying ship'. The transition looks nice, but I miss the ship!

Anyhow, as a flexitarian I usually find the taste of meat weird so I asked them to exclude beef. The service was very quick, I only waited like 30 seconds before I got a hot steaming bowl of pho. Soup was clear, the bowl was large, overall great taste and value. Their hoisin sauce is sweet, very different to the standard jar stuff but the flavour blended nicely with the stock.

Most amazingly, I only got charged $6 for the bowl of pho! First shop that ever discounted me for excluding meat. I'm mindblown.

Definitely recommend coming on a weekend rather than during the week for Pho as the stock tastes so much better of a weekend. This is probably the best place in Sydney to go to for Pho! The ingredients are so fresh, and they make a mean iced coffee! A little more pricey than the usual hotspots in Bankstown, however, this is definitely worth the trip.

To be honest, Its the best pho place I have ever come across! Nice soup base mix with fresh beef but the menu is limited and ambience is so. I have to share table with other customers if it is busy, which I don't like and leave me less privacy.

Finally a place that doesn't want me to venture to Bankstown for Pho! This place is quite the gem, the pho is very homemade and tastes great, they give plenty of meat and bean sprouts to accompany the soup. Besides the great pho, the ambience sure does drag the place down, it is desperately in need of a makeover to compliment its great food.

The pho here is really nice, definitely one of the best in Sydney and probably Australia as well. The sate is really nice as well and is an excellent dip for the beef. And for those who don't eat beef or want to try something different, the fish noodle soup (pho ca or hu tieu ca) is really tasty as well.

Their Pho is the best in Cabramatta which probably means the entire Sydney. There is no ambience to speak of, I've been coming here for the past 15 years and the place hasn't changed a bit, a facelift is long overdue. Also the owner/s have a habit of leaving the door wide open so you can smell the exhaust from the cars passing by, not pleasant.

Edit: Do not ever come here on a week day. I learned that the hard way. On weekends, the soup is much more nicer and the beef fresher. But somehow during the week, that all changes, the soup tastes like it was reused from someone else's leftover.

We are regulars at this family run and operated restaurant, making the best Pho in Australia.

I have been slurping down pho for the last 20 years of my life not just in Bankstown, Marrickville or Cabramatta but also in Asia and London and I would have to say hands down this is the best Pho soup base I have ever come across! It is delicate yet full of deeply complementing complex flavours, which no doubt has been perfected over the 30 years of running this pho outlet. Anytime that I am in Cabramatta I will definitely make a beeline to Tau Bay.

Just had the spicy Vietnamese beef soup (Bun Bo Hue). The broth was just amazingly refreshing and soothing. My other half had his Ban canh with fish and the broth was also excellent. I think they are specialising in noodle soup. It's definitely a simple restaurant. But if you look for soothing soup for such cold weather. This is the right place to go.
