I’m not a huge fan of the name of the restaurant as it sounds like having lunch with the smell of petroleum surrounding us but it’s the only option we’ve got. That said, Monsieur and I were pleasantly surprised. Though there was no beans, no crêpes, no beef casserole and exceptionally, a cash only policy, service was prompt and food was good.

Service was quite slow, and we had to hunt down a waitress to request the bill, but the food was lovely and the ambience was beautiful for romantic couples dinner. Recommend the duck. We will be back.

Even having read the reviews here, I came to Petrol with no expectations, and I purchased a voucher through spreets for 3 courses with a glass of wine each and coffee. We sat outside which was nice on a sunny Saturday and the waitress was very friendly. However the food was very average, entrees of beef carpaccio was the highlight but nothing in the main section seemed that tempting, my husband had the chicken risoni which was bland and my beef stew had a nice spicy kick but not much beef. We shared the chocolate cake which would have been nice if served with ice cream and their chai latte was creamy and well made. Overall a bit disappointed but worth a try.

A charming, elegant restaurant serving excellent breakfasts. The lunch and dinner menu also looks amazing, showing a lot of flair and imagination. Also has good coffee and I found the service both friendly and efficient.

Very slow, but amicable service. Great cappuccino. "The Porridge" was hearty but not overly heavy, had plenty of fresh raspberries and shredded coconut.

Yay! Black pudding for breakfast. The black pudding and beans dish was awesome.
The Al fresco set up makes for a great weekend breakfast experience and the friendly staff and hands on approach of the owner/chef, Clinton, made us feel right at home. Full marks!

The chicken liver pate is the best pate I have had, they make it onsite and is just out of this world. The staff are so helpful and nice. The place looks great feels like your in a other world. Petrol is my place to go for a glasse of wine and relax with friend. Thanks petrol your just the best.

Excellent food. Might go back for lunch today. Great produce. Staff are super friendly and helpful. When it's hot outside they offer outdoor dining patrons sunscreen and when it's cold a blanket. Just that extra bit of service really counts.
