Able to get a booking 2 hrs before we intended to dine on a Friday night. The place was packed, but the service was pleasant and prompt. Initially sat in the outside area, under a gas heater until the waiter asked if we would like to move inside as a table had become available, and pre-warned us that the heater we were under could be a tad overwhelming, so we made the move.
The menu is varied and very enticing. My partner ordered the Veal scallopini and the sauce was absolutely divine. I chose the Chicken breast with macadamia nut crust, with a Dijon mustard cream sauce. Delicious again, but my only complaint is that I didn't receive nearly enough sauce to really enjoy the meal, merely a thin layer on the plate. I could have asked for a little more but thankfully my partner had ample sauce on his veal which he graciously shared.
Mains were around $27, an although not massive in size, enough to satisfy without ridiculously stuffing yourself. We will return.
We love Peronis. We have dined here about five times, and have received fabulous food and service every time. We almost always get the eye fillet, a prawn entree, and the brulee for dessert. It is always well cooked and it is obvious a lot of care goes into presentation and taste.
Ambience is fabulous - the interior is cosy and warm, with an outdoor area and room for large groups in the summer.
Service again is always good - we reguarly get the same waitress who is attentive and checks in enough to make sure we're going ok and have what we want. There's no waiting for service or having to get the waiter's eye.
Meals came out fast but not too quickly, and prices are excellent for the area and quality of food. Will definitely be going back and encourage others to do so.
Very over-priced for what is on offer. The steak was tough as an old boot, the risotto was mush and the dessert straight from the supermarket shelf. A disappointing night out.
We went to Peronis with a table of eight for Mother's Day.We were overwhelmed with the food, service and atmosphere. Lamb was superb and the creme brulee was heavenly. We have already booked for next year. Highly recommended.
I went to Peronis Restaurant for my wife birthday it was great night out reasonably
price menu filling portion but I did not walk out feeling sluggish. The food is very fresh I had the crispy skin snapper with potatoes scallops and my wife had the veal scaloppine we both had the Brule and it was lush we both can't understand what davo1 is talking about the wait staff were quite helpful and the kitchen staff were friendly, they answer some of are question which was pleasing the restaurant, pleasing to the eye and as we left we had a yarn with the owner which was good because he seemed really enthusiastic.
I came to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago with a group of 3 friends. None of us were overly impressed with the food - quite bland and definitely not Italian.
The ambience was terrible, with a lot of loud noise coming from the kitchen. I felt very sorry for a couple seated near us that looked like they were on their first date - there was a crying baby at the table behind them.
The acoustics in the restaurant is terrible and the crying reverberated throughout the restaurant. There was also another large group near us who were quite rowdy. This is not usually a problem but as the noise travels far in the dining room, the whole restaurant knew exactly what was going on at their table.
Went there for a birthday dinner. Had one of the set menus ($45 per head) and was quite disappointed with the overall quality of the food. The risotto was overcooked and mushy with little consistency. The penne dish had napoletana sauce that tasted like it was straight from the supermarket shelf and the creme brulee was like common carton custard with toffee sugar on top.
The steak was okay, nothing special. I don't know why it claims to be an Italian restaurant as there is nothing much Italian about it. Multicultural staff were friendly and efficient and surroundings were nice. Better value to be had elsewhere.
This place is fantastic, my boyfriend and I can't think of a place which beats Peronis. Food as nice as any highly commended city restaurants though more affordable. Friendly staff, don't miss the dessert menu!
