Went here in 2010. A quaint little family restaurant that's away from the pack of locals. As I recall, quite reasonable food - but nothing spectacular. Just generous servings.

I've going there since a teenager and never had a good meal. As a local I'm forced to meet friends there.it is over priced and the quality is not high in food or interior design. I always get an upset stomach after eating here, I think the food is full of preservatives suggesting bottled sauces.

This a family favourite, we have been going to the cottage for 15-20 years. I started going to the cottage as a teenager with my parents and still go today. We have had family functions, we also celebrate birthday dnners or just a nice evening out with friends and family and the cottage always seems to impress.

Always greeted with a friendly smile, cosy atmosphere, food is always delicious my personal favourties are the lasagne, bruchetta, chicken breast mango, scallopine cottage (veal), beef medallions (steak), scallop and prawns en brochette, garlic prawns and greek salad. My taste buds are getting excited just talking about it lol.

I have never had a meal I didnt enjoy at the cottage and everytime i take someone new there they are blown away by the quality of food and always return. If you are looking to celebrate or have a relaxing meal with a loved one, family or friends I highly reccomend the cottage.

This is my families favorite restaurant we have been going there for about 15 years, I believe the quality of food you get for the price you pay is good value. It is a beautiful little cottage and is a family run restaurant, 1 of not too many restaurants with cloth table cloths & cloth napkins. We have had many birthday dinners there and they have always been great, we even held a surprise anniversary dinner for my parents and they catered for 40 people and everyone loved it. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Port; you have to be careful jumping to your own conclusions as to how you assume restaurants target clientelle; I am a regular there and drive over 30 kms from south west Sydney for the pleasure; there is not a restaurant of its equal between there and Campbelltown.. Many of their clientelle are actually regulars. You may have had an inconsiderate family eating there during your experience but this is not the norm.

I don't know where the good reviews come from, however, all I can say is that I was quite unhappy pretty much from the second I walked in till I left. Elsewhere is better value I think.

There were a bunch of kids running around making a nuisance of themselves and generally made a decent meal situation quite impossible. The management would rather the short term gain of a few clients than the long term gain of people. Will never go there again and would not ever suggest it.

I've now been there five times and will keep going back, they are very well priced. My wife who is the hardest person in the world to cook steak for always has the Steak and laps it all up as it is always cook exactly how she likes it (well done, no pink at all but still moist and tender), the kids also scoff down the steak, it is delicious.

I always have the Swordfish, it is always a very generous serving and the sauce is beautiful. The let down for this place is that it does get quite crowded, one would suggest because of the amount of people who have discovered how good it is.

Vvery overpriced, when I went it was quite empty, but still enjoyable. Be sure to avoid the smokers area if you are a non smoker because it can get very uncomfortable. The food was nice, the cake was simply amazing.

A group of us dined here at the suggestion of a friend, we take it in turns to suggest the next restaurant we all try and were keen as the suggestion came with a good review!

The ambience was pleasant, a little stark. Perhaps, lower the lighting a little and get a fire going and the cottage would come alive. The tablecloths and linen all suggested that the owners are trying to climb a bit higher up the restaurant ladder, albeit somewhat unsucessfully.

Service was mediocre at best. The waitress seemed to want to be anywhere but at work, and it showed. This was not helped by constant passing of items through the bar window to patrons in another room who were smoking excessively, sending clouds of smoke into the main dining room.

For the prices that they are charging the food is atrocious. The presentation was like pub food (to be honest the pubs I have been to are better in this department), and every meal was served on a smaller-than-dinner-sized plate. Food tasted ok, but was not at the standard that we expected given the prices being charged (up to $52 for scampi).

For the lower-priced menu items value was ok, but when you are being charged $29 for a swordfish steak, you expect more than just a thin bit of fish (which could've been anything), smothered in a cream sauce next to the usual steamed vegetables. In saying that, the devils hot pot looked like great value given the abundant seafood.

Dessert was not pricey, but was generally below par. Gelato was ok, however, creme caramel looked and felt in the mouth like an aero chocolate bar. Full of bubbles and didn't taste nice at all. It also appeared to have been store-bought, and looked to have been cooked in some way, which doesn't make sense at all for a dessert that is refrigerated to be set and then turned out onto the plate to be served with no cooking past the making of the mixture.

It was a good night out, and the company was brilliant, however, we don't think that we will be back to this restaurant. The friend that suggested it was disappointed and wondered whether it had recently changed hands. We used our entertainment cards (luckily), and feel that this establishment lets down the many other eateries in the front section of the book, which features hatted restaurants. Their inclusion should be reviewed.

Took my wife and kids here for dinner sat night, all in all it was a nice night, not a fancy place but like sitting in the mother in laws lounge room which is very cosy. Food is very homely and without a view of something fancy its not a place you would go for some thing special. My wife had the fish and I had the lasagna and the kids had a children meal. Its no bad value if you have the entertainment card, good like us if you live close by. Worth a try.
