We went here with friends on 27 April, find it hard to believe its the same restaurant reviewed by Maree D. As we were a table of 6 we had to have the chef's choice, which was fine by all us. Such good serves that I probably could have done without one of the courses.

The salad of crispy duck with hazelnuts was a perfect blend of flavours, as was the pizzetta with white anchovies, which was even enjoyed by my anchovy hating partner. The rabbit pie was to die for, beautifully tender chunks of meat in a flavoursome sauce. The lamb too was tender and tasty, even passing the critical eye of our two Greek dining companions, though I could have done with just one portion of lamb not two.

Dessert was pleasant, berries, cream, meringue, but not memorable. Service was excellent despite being a busy night. The main negative, and it was a real negative was a large table near us of about 10 people, who obviously hadn't seen each other for a while, but who made up for it with noise. Without exaggeration there was a good 10+ minute period when no-one on our table could talk to each because we couldn't what we were saying, closer diners, mostly couples, must have had a worse time of it.

I think at times like this the wait staff should comment to a really noisy table, to maybe tone it down a bit for the comfort and enjoyment of other diners.

The food here isn't good enough to overcome the Fawlty Towers approach to customer service. Better restaurants in the vicinity where customers are treated witha great deal more respect and not corralled into buying cheap "French" champagne at an exorbitant price. The restaurant purports to be BYO but will not allow customers to bring sparkling wine - if you want sparkling wine you must buy their overpriced house wine. In addition, they offer a "chef's choice" but will not provide that to patrons unless the whole table chooses it. In our case there were 2 couples - one couple wanted the chef's choice, the other didn't but they would not serve the chef's choice to our table. They were happy to serve it to another table where there was only one couple eating. Some of the food was good but other dishes were awful. Not in a hurry to go back.

Had a fantastic dinner here for our family of four, superb quality food, lovely ambience, attentive service. We went on a Wednesday night and they were quite full. Would definitely go again for a special occasion.

Went there for Valentine's Day last night for the very first time, and had the "trust the chef" 5 course degustation. It was excellent. The crispy duck salad is one of the mainstays at the restaurant, and was lovely. However, my hero dish was the figs and gorgonzola. A heart stopper in more ways than one, but a real knockout dish. Staff were great and friendly, and the check is a laugh. Good personality, percolating through all aspects of this restaurant.

Food is amazing. Really interesting flavour combinations that are a taste sensation! Love that the menu changes regularly and ingredients are fresh, seasonal and excellent quality. Have been a few times and the standard has always been exceptional.

Definitely recommend the 'trust the chef' option but make sure you are hungry, it's a lot of food! Great decor and ambience, refreshing to find somewhere that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Service is always friendly. These people know what they are doing and they do it well!

One of the best eats my wife and I have had in years. Food fantastic! Menu prolific. We took the Trust The Chef meal: 5 courses (3 entrees, main and dessert) for just $60 per head. Incredible value! Licensed restaurant and allows BYO. Cash only premise so come prepared. Strange but true. Outside looks a bit common, inside just lovely. Food is bloody fantastic.

Wow, Firtsly this is a place to share with someone special! The food was amazing. Highly recommend trusting the Chef! Plate after plate of scrumptious foods. Service was wonderful, attentive, but unobtrusive. This was our first date and what an impression it made. If you love food and are looking for an invigorating taste sensation you must go to Peacock Trattoria. Now I am secretly hoping that this wonderfil little restaurant will become our regular favourite!

Discovered Peacock Trattoria a month ago and had a scrumptious dinner and returned with the extended family to find it delicious especially for a Fathers Day as we all know how bad a set menu lunch can be. Service was excellent except for the staff not familiar with what they are serving and no kids meals except for Pizza which was yummy I might add. Love the funky decor as per previous comments a bit of the city in the burbs.
